Why we don't have eternal optimizers?
...mple, for a 20k lines program, the optimizer should finish in a couple of minutes and not e.g. a couple of days. And my question is, why? For almost all programs, the period that starts when the program starts being developed to the day it is released is way bigger than a couple of minutes. In the meantime, a couple of modules might not have been touched for months. And an unconstrained optimizer could do its best in all this time. Given that this eternal optimizer will respect the initial semantics, one can compile a module, test it, and then let the optimizer do its best. The behavior of a module...

ForwardX11Trusted
...ut the new untrusted X client configuration. At least part of this seems to be the short (2 minutes!) timeout on the cookie, so that if you're impatient like me and open a connection to a machine that takes a little while to do the key exchange, go off and do something in another window in the meantime, and then come back when it's finished, you may well find that the untrusted cookie's expired in the meantime. This seems a bit excessive. Would anyone think I was crazy for defaulting to ForwardX11Trusted in our OpenSSH package for a while until this becomes more mature? At least then we...

Pending upload
Hi, One last thought... We haven't heard anything back from Bastian (for which I'm sorry, I would really have liked if he had joined us) and in the meantime consensus seem to have formed on -kernel and -devel, or at least there was no more answers... Which means at least people don't disagree strongly with the conclusions taken... In the meantime, though, there's still the upload of xen 3 pending in NEW... What about it? Are the ftpmasters go...

[LLVMdev] New llvm-gcc bootstrap failure
I get the error below (and have for a couple weeks now) when trying to build llvm-gcc on Ubuntu Feisty. In the meantime, on Ubuntu Gutsy, everything has been building fine. Both are release builds for x86. John cc1: StringMap.cpp:177: void llvm::StringMapImpl::RemoveKey(llvm::StringMapEntryBase*): Assertion `V == V2 && "Didn't find key?"' failed.

Vacation Fcc
...that message in my "sent" mailbox. There is an RFC draft (draft-ietf-extra-sieve-fcc-09) for this, which adds a ":fcc" argument to vacation, but apparently it's not supported by Pigeonhole. I have two questions: Will ":fcc" be supported in the future? In the meantime (or if supporting ":fcc" is not planned), is it possible to achieve the same result with the existing Sieve extensions? (I can imagine a way to do this at the MTA level by checking the presence of the "Auto-Submitted:" header, but did not test it.) Thanks, Gregory

In the meantime, I need to support it. Oh, and I just tried to join the elrepo lists, and it told me my email address was banned. No clue, haven't tried that list for years, emailed the owners.... It starts to look like I need to go to proprietary.... mark

[LLVMdev] Re: llvm linux/PPC cfrontend
...by gccas). What appears to be happening is that a call to fprintf() is being changed to a call to fwrite(), but this transform is being done incorrectly because the fprintf() is being passed a ubyte * while fwrite() takes an sbyte *. I'm creating a reduced testcase right now, but in the meantime, I'd like for you to try something. This should work around the problem that you're having (as well as verify that I understand the problem): Go into your LLVM source tree and comment out the following line in llvm/tools/gccas/gccas.cpp: addPass(PM, createSimplifyLibCallsPass());...

CentOS (2.6.9-42.0.8.ELsmp) and CentOS (2.6.9-42.0.8.EL)
List, I am experimenting with a Dual processor Supermicro and plan to use CentOS 5 when it is released. In the meantime I have installed Centos 4.4. Sorry for asking such a basic question but what is the difference between CentOS (2.6.9-42.0.8.ELsmp) and CentOS (2.6.9-42.0.8.EL) Both kernels have been installed, but I have not been able to find which one is best to use for what purposes. Thanks, Greg Ennis

[LLVMdev] New llvm-gcc bootstrap failure
> I am having the same problem. It was "introduced" by revision 54811, > so it looks like a memory corruption problem. Investigating. Interesting. Bootstrapping with gcac works! Some tests with valgrind also work. My next try is to add some debug code to do bounds checking in SmallVector. Cheers, -- Rafael Avila de Espindola Google | Gordon House | Barrow Street | Dublin 4 |

Two Samba Server (with same Domain Name) on the same subnet??
Dear Members, We have a samba (v3.2.5).domain (workgroup=TESTDOMAIN) on a debian server (with opanldap authentication) running for several years. Now I would like to let this domain temporarily active (due to old windowsXP client, they will dissaperar soon). In the meantime I will setup a second samba server (v3.6.6) (authentication through another openldap server - running already) with the same Domain Name (workgroup=TESTDOMAIN) for new windows 7 Clients. My question: is it possible to run 2 Samba Servers (both preferred master and domain master) with the same Dom...

About timestamps in logs and zonestatus
...eload (to explain the serials). The difference in timestamp can be explained by the fact that NSD looks up if the serial is still the latest after the TTL expires. If it is, the time is updated because the zone is renewed. What's the TTL of the zone? Where there any updates to the zone in the meantime? If the zone is expired in the meantime or the TTL is greater than the time printed, we can try increasing verbosity to spot an issue, or I'll have to dive into the code. - Jeroen On Tue, 2024-02-27 at 08:59 +0300, Peter Andreev via nsd-users wrote: > Dear All, > > Please help me...

As I get farther along with my code generator I expect I'll get to the point where everything kind of fits together for me and I can finish it up. AEC on a TI C6x - has no effect
Itay, I tested on C6x in May with build 11343 and 11398, and it worked fine. I just ran the same test with build 11768, and there was no cancellation, just as you saw. I will try to track this down in the next day or two.
