XCP GUI management
...snapshot. We can install software on the Windows classroom machines but it
can''t be a complex install and the license needs to be at least free.
Any suggestions? Having students "fix" their own VMs is crucial. Not giving
them full admin rights to ALL VMs is also crucial.

With a Samba 3 PDC, can I promote a Samba BDC to become new PDC?
...unning Samba 3.0 PDC using tdbsam, how can I migrate the PDC
responsibilities from the existing Linux box to another?
I'd imagine this scenario comes up often as people upgrade server
hardware on PDCs without losing all the existing domain settings.
Can anyone help me?
Many thanks,

streaming server on a virtual machine.
I need to installa a streaming server for live videos and for video on demand.
My choice is red5.
Do you think I can use a xen virtual machine to run a streaming service?
Or it is better not to virtualize?
Sorry for my bad english.

Proposal - Add xe manpages to xen-org
...administration so far and should be
packages and distributed themselves.
All of our documentation is created with future XSLT transforms being able
to include or remove sections with the Administration guide and xe help in
mind.
This is an official proposal to add this project to xen-org.

Xen and Enomaly
Hi list,
Right now I''ve to find some graphic (or web!) interface to administrate
our new data center infrastructure who will be running over Xen.
I''ve been googling around to find something, and looks like Enomaly is a
good choice.
Can anybody give me some feedback about this? Or maybe recommend another
front-end interface?
Thanks in advance.
Boris.

XCP 1.0 beta Realtek 8168 nic not working
...the device has auto-negotiate off and running half duplex. Any
attempts to use ethtool to fix it fail.
So my biggest frustration is that this network card works on CentOS 5.5. The
main difference between CentOS and XCP is kernel so is this a kernel issue
or is there a configuration issue?

Some people, when confronted with a problem, think "I know, I''ll use
Windows."
Now they have two problems.

Need to migrate a centos image from xen source to xenserver
Have an Onapp system we are migrating away from to xenserver and it uses
Xen source images I believe. I had no problem moving the MS Windows
servers using the xenconvert utility, but not being a linux guy the
conversion process of moving files from Onapp to xenserver is not clear.
I think the files on Onapp are .img files, but they don''t use extensions
from what I can tell when they

Slightly OT: FakeRaid or Software Raid
I have had great luck with nvidia fakeraid on RAID1, but I see there are
preferences for software raid. I have very little hands on with full
Linux software RAID and that was about 14 years ago.
I am trying to determine which to use on a rebuild in a "standard"
CentOS/Xen enviroment.
It seems to me that while FakeRaid is/can be completely taken care of in
dom0 dmraid whereas with

domU static IP
Hi,
I''m trying to setup xen on a server with bridge networking. I have
RedHat as my dom0. I have two Ubuntu instances and one CentOS instance
as domU''s. All of them (dom0 and domU) use static ip addresses.
The configuration files for domU''s specify in the vif line what ip
address to be assigned to that particular domU. It works fine for my
ubuntu domU''s. But

Add independent interface from domU to internal bridge?
Hi,
I have what I believe is an elementary problem, but I haven''t yet
figured out the solution.
Within my domU host, I have a bridge named "net1". There is no routing
performed between the real LAN and this bridge, intentionally. I have a
virtual machine that connects to the bridge. It seems to work fine, (in
fact I have several and I can bring them all up and they can
