new version of mclust available
...tributed package on CRAN.
The associated manual is located at
http://www.stat.washington.edu/www/research/reports/2006/tr504.pdf
The main feature in terms of new functionality is the option to include
a Bayesian prior in the mixture model for regularization.
The older version is still available mclust02 for those who need
backward compatibility.

try FlexMix RE: mulitmodal distributions
Hi, Marion,
I believe the package FlexMix provides a more generalized version of
finite mixture modeling than is found in mclust/mclust02.
Please see:

Dear R-listers,
I have created a plot to display the density lines for the same
variable by different entities. Now, I want to fill the area under the
density lines with semitransparent colors.
Though I have checked that in web-searching and book-reading, I still
do not perform that.
Could anyone please give me any helps or advice? Thank you in advance.

RFC: 'igraph' package update and backward compatibility
Dear R developers,
I am seeking advice on some $subject matter.
My package will have an update soon, that is not backward compatible
with the current version. It will likely break much of the existing
code. Many (~50) packages depend on 'igraph' and they, too, will most
probably break with the new version.
My intended solution is, that I create a snapshot of the current
package, under
