Error Attaching Seventh VirtIO-SCSI Device to Guest
I have run into a problem attempting to attach the seventh virtio-scsi device to a RHEL 6.4 Guest from a RHEL 6.4 host running libvirt version 0.10.2-18. I have a guest that is running RHEL6.4 where I can attach disks sda(boot), sdb, sdc, sdd, sde and sdf but when I try to attach sdg the virsh attach-disk command fails with the error: error: Failed to attach disk error: internal error Unable to

CentOS 5.3 on X86_64: yum installs both i386 and x86_64 packages
Hello, Is it advisable to clean up the system by deleting the i386 rpms? If so how do you know which ones to remove and which ones CentOS or RHEL require to be installed? You can use ?yum list installed \*.i386? to list all of the i386 rpms installed on your x86_64 system and I assume you could use ?yum remove installed \*.i386? to remove them all. If there were a few which were necessary to

objects disappear from dladm after reboot
On OpenSolaris 2009.06 I created a flow, half a dozen VNICs, and I set some properties, and everything was working, then I rebooted my system and everything disappeared from show-vnic, show-flow, and show-prop. When I tried to re-create the objects, dladm said they already existed. While I could not see the objects, I could delete them. Example: # dladm show-vnic # dladm create-vnic -l bge0

Expanding an LVM Storage Pool
I looked around but could not find any info on how to expand a libvirt managed LVM storage pool. I do not see any virsh command to do it but I was successful using the vgexpand command to add some more storage once I destroyed the pools and then restarted it. I'd like to verify that this is the proper way to grow the storage in a libvirt LVM storage pool. And this brings up a second

Xen3 on Etch - Rebooting when 2nd DomU started
Hi All, Fairly new to Debian and Xen but I have a box running with lots of DomUs under Xen2 and it is fine. I have setup a new IBM eServer P4 and loaded Etch and loaded Xen3. It runs up my first DomU beautifully but when I start my second DomU it crashes the PC and reboots. If I comment out the line in /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp (network-script network-bridge) It will run 2 DomUs Have I run

trouble with maxbw
Folks, I''m playing with maxbw on links (as opposed to flows) in Crossbow, and I have a couple of questions. First, the limts seem only advisory. The first example has the main host talking to a zone that has 172.16.17.100 configured on znic0. When there is no maxbw, the throughtput is as expected; when maxbw is 55M the throughput only drops to 76 Mbps: # netperf -H

Enabling route_localnet on private network
I have an issue setting a persistent kernel option on a libvirt net device since that device does not exist early enough during the boot of the KVM host. I am using the 127.0.0.0 local net for cluster communication between the KVM host and its guests as well as between KVM guests. In order to use addresses on the 127.0.0.0/8 network, which is reserved for local communication, two configuration

Extending an existing LVM pool - vgextend and pool XML
...e it out the best way to add a disk/partition to an existing LVM pool. A google search led me to this link (a thread from this same mailing list, September 2013): https://www.redhat.com/archives/libvirt-users/2013-September/msg00136.html The interesting part is this: " On 21/09/13 02:15, McEvoy, James wrote: I looked around but could not find any info on how to expand a libvirt managed LVM storage pool. dovecot + openwebmail
Hi, I'm trying to add some sanity to a badly thought out mail system that, for various reasons, cant be fixed from the bottom up at this moment in time. The system is debian sarge, exim 4.5, doing virtual domains and delivering into mboxes in /var/spool/virtual/$domain/$user , there is webmail access and this allows user to create folders in (dont shoot me!)

Libvirt and Qemu for Debian Squeeze
Has anyone built current debs for Debian Squeeze (v6.0.7) that supports virtio-scsi, Fibre Channel World Wind Names and virt-install for the virtio-scis controller (0.600.4)? I have a need to run a RHEL 6.4 guest on a Debian Squeeze KVM host and I do not have experience building debs instead of rpms. --jim
