Paging systems?
...ith SIP?
We've got a client with an old paging system that (supposedly) just takes an rj11 POTS connection, but when we put an SPA Cisco adapter on it, it doesn't auto-answer the call, so paging never happens.

Samba printing options
Hi.
I set up samba printer drivers (printer$ share) on my Samba 2.2.7a. The
printer drivers install works fine, however I have the problem that after
installing the driver isn't configured propertly (I want to force using
Duplexing unit,...) - is there any way to specify the 'default settings'
for printer drivers?
BTW: How can I get the correct printer default settings?

How can I do this? (Looking at the configs, I think it's not possible...

to suggestions / alternate tactics.

Routing between networks
...r, computer X never receives a reply.
I *think* this is because computer Y doesn't know how to route the
return packet.
Is this correct? Or am I missing something else?
If this is correct, how do I tell tinc to route the packet back to
computer X?

Group mapping problem - please help
Hi.
I'm using Samba 2.2.7a-security-rollup-fix (RH-9.0) as member of WinNT4
domain. I joined samba to the domain. I configured the winbind daemon and
nsswitch switch to map NT users to unix users.
Then I set ACL support on an ext3 partition and share the mount point of
this partition with ACL Samba support:
- my share is [test_share]
- the directory is /mnt/test_dir

convert zaptel to dahdi?
...device even shows up; however, dahdi show channels shows me nothing. There is a TE122 and a TDM800 in there, and neither show up.
dahdi show status shows both cards, and dahdi tools show that the cards are there, working, and have no alarms.
What am I missing?

ACL: some maybe stupid questions
Hi.
I want to use ACL on my RH-9.0 box (x86), so I got ext3 ACL patch from
http://acl.bestbits.at/ and tried to apply it to the kernel that ships
with RH (2.4.20-8). The patching fails on some vm file so I got a vanila
kernel 2.4.20, apply the patch and compile it. This works fine. Also
RH-9.0 precompiled Samba 2.2.7 works fine with ACL.
I connected to my share with WinXP and do some testing

It would be nice to just disable the key at some central point and then
authentication / encryption / decryption just *break* for that bad actor.

Is there any way to obtain the public key from the private key?
I know it's in host file however for the purpose of this message I need to
be able to generate it on the command line.
I tried

Hello all, my apologies if I have failed to RTFM, but the PDF manual and
google were no help.
I am trying to get a simple two node tunnel setup. I have verified that
the up scripts bring up the interfaces as they are written; however my gut
feeling is that there is something wrong there, but I am not sure exactly
what.

TDB file format???
Hi.
I want to use NT usernames / passwords from my PDC for loging in my
server. I also want to use NFS between various UNIX machines I have. The
problem is that I already have a database of username <-> UID maping (each
user that has an NT username got an unique UID when he got a username).
Now I want to translate this my UID database into winbindd UID tdb
database, however I don't know

NTFS backup question

I know that this is the Samba list, however I searched the net and asked
the below question on MS mailing lists, but I didn't got any usefull info,
so:
Does anyone know of any free tool that can be used from WinXP command line
to backup files from NTFS 5 volumes paths (eg.
\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy1) to a file on a diferent
