Ellipse 750 USBS auto shutdown and NUT.
...meters within the UPS that would allow
me to cancel this behavior (and have the usual behavior of the UPS sending
an alarm to NUT and waiting to be shutdown by the "halt" script upsdrvctl
shutdown command).
My guess is that the UPS "knows" if it is connected to an host or not.
Maybee in case of using the serial port this does not work ? (and the UPS
thinks it is not suppervised ?) Maybee shall NUT send it some command at
some point to notify this ?
Any help appreciated.

Violin plot for discrete variables.
...s not satisfying results.
This is the same in case of using density or histogram.
Hence, I am wondering if there is a equivalent of the vioplot function
(package vioplot) for discrete variables
which starts with a boxplot and than adds a rotated plot(table()) plot
to each side of the box plot.
Maybee I should ask it first: Does such a plot make any sense? If not
are there better solutions?
cheers
Eryk.

Is there a way to represent the ... argument in signature?
Hi!
I guess that it cant work. but maybee I am wrong.
I would like to define a function rbind.

rJava software
Hey everyone,
I just saw a demonstration of a model that is built entirely in R that
allows for transportation greenhouse gas related scenario testing and it
used an awesome GUI utilizing iplots, rJava and gWidgets libraries. Very
cool stuff. I am a somewhat seasoned R user but cannot seem to figure out
what rJava needs to run correctly.
I have installed Java but when i load the rJava

chan_capi: suppress calling number on outbound dialing?
...i,
I just wonder, if it is possible, to suppress my own number on outbound

But it doesn't work. Maybee I'm wrong and misunderstood the code.
Thanks for any answers!

how lambda is computed in smoot.spline given _df_
Hi,
I posted some days ago a question concerning the computation of lambda in the smooth.spline function (which I repreat at the bottom of the mail) given _df_ .
Unfortunately the documentation is not clear to me. Maybee someone can help to answer in my view the basic question:
If the penalized log likelihood is L = (y - f)' W (y - f) + lambda c' Sigma c
how the _lambda_ in the above equation is computed if _df_ is given and _spar_ not?
And, Is there a way to define lambda directly?
Yours.

ZFS and memory usage.
ZFS works really stable on FreeBSD, but I''m biggest problem is how to
control ZFS memory usage. I''ve no idea how to leash that beast.
FreeBSD has a backpresure mechanism. I can register my function so it
will be called when there are memory problems, which I do. I using it
for ARC layer.
Even with this in place under heavy load the kernel panics, because

tftpd server
Hi
In the pxelinux page, is referred that the tftpd server from
http://tftpd32.jounin.net as working with pxelinux.
However, from the tests I've made, it seems that the 'tsize' option is not
supported.
Anyone has knowledge of a working TFTPD server that runs on Windows NT4?
p.s. it can be shareware, I just want to test it with NT4, I have had
success with the 'builtin'

The problem starts when syslinux tries to load kernel file into the memory,
for some reason it tries to read the wrong addresses, or maybee it
calculates the addresses wrongly. I have tried several paritions sizes

On your changelog, i see that you converted lots of assembly code into C,
somewhere there is the bug, which is not allowing for a successful load of

ACL issues with ZFS
ZFS introduces a new and incompatible ACL interface into
Solaris and this seems to be not yet fully completed in addition
to the fact that is causes a lot of problems for software that
needs to be compatible with Solaris-2.5 like star.
Proof for incompatibility:
create a file on UFS and set an ACL for this file.
Use Sun tar cpf out file to archive this file.
Unpack this archive file on ZFS
