Inheriting from AdminController intstead from ApplicationController
Hi I would like to do the following: I have created an admin namespace and the required folders app/admin views/admin etc. And then I wanted all controllers under app/admin to inherit from a controller named AdminController which resists under app/admin/admin.rb instead of inhereting from ApplicationController, so I could better separate between admin and public section. Controllers, what? why?
...a controller is just a class whose methods interface with models and views, why not have a single controller for the whole application? Can someone please comment on this maybe with an example on an obvious situation where having two controller makes more sense than having just one? Short SMART check causes disk op timeouts
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Hi, I have recently bought a new disk (Seagate 500G, ST3500320NS). I have enabled SMART checking using the smartmontools as usual for the disk (/dev/ad6 -a -S on -s (S/../.././03|L/../../7/03) -m root). The problem is that each time the test runs I get messages like the following in

R 3.0; want to try again?
So with a major new version of R coming along, it seems like a reasonable point at which to try to pick up the "Let''s make a CRAN repo for the red-hat-like folks!" task again. The last time I tried to download Pierre-Yves'' package, I couldn''t get it to run in RHEL5.8; I went down a rabbit hole trying to make changes for my own use. Eventually, I simply

QCOW2 goes corrupted when using GPLPV drivers
QCOW2 disk image gets corrupted when you try to install Service Pack 1 AFTER installing GPLPV drivers. This means, without the pv drivers, everything works fine. I tested both RAW and QCOW2 without GPLPV drivers and the installation has completed without any error, and the image (at least qcow2) has no errors too. How to reproduce: - Install Windows 7 32-bit guest - Check the image with

Problem with inconsolata font (again) --- on Fedora 17 this time.
Some while ago I posted a problem on this list concerning a failure of R CMD check on one of my packages that resulted from LaTeX being unable to find the "inconsolata" font. This was under the Ubuntu OS. This was solved, thanks to advice I got from this list, basically by doing sudo apt-get install texlive-fonts-extra I am now (for reasons which I won''t go into)

missing Rversion.h and Rconfig.h when installing RSQLite under FC8
Hello, I am having problems installing RSQLite under FC8. The error message seems to indicate Rversion.h and Rconfig.h are missing. To illustrate the problem, I have copied below the output shown when I first install R (binary distribution) and then try to install RSQLite. Because the problem does not occur when installing RSQLite with R under Windows I suspect the problem is perhaps due to my

package building problem Centos 7 & R 3.4.1
Dear everybody: Packages that DO pass the package check on my Ubuntu 17.04 laptop with R 3.4.1 and Mac OSX do not build on Centos 7 with R 3.4.1. I'm pretty sure I have an environment defect, but cannot find it. I find posts from various people about this problem since 2012. But I've checked the likely suspects. Among all the runs I pasted in below, the most informative error message I
