That seems like an awfully convenient rug to sweep problems under.
Can?t fix a security problem? Corporate restrictions!
Can?t require sensible security defaults restrictions by default? Corporate restrictions!

Creating your own CA and SSL certificates
I've been looking all over (google, wiki, manuals) for docs, and I
can't find any mention of how to set up a CA or certificates
*specifically for centos 5 / upstream 5*. There are plenty of generic
guides on using openssl for this sort of thing, but I'd like to play
nice within the standard structure of this system.
I've found the /etc/pki directory, but can't find much

For the OP:
Did you even try Google before asking the list? Google should always be
your first choice.

For Scott:
If you install the VLC app on the iPad you can probably skip the
transcoding and also having to add the video to iTunes first. You'll only
need to transcode the audio if it uses AC3, which is proprietary and the

Adding tripplite smart1500 UPS to tripplite_usb
Hello,
I have a Tripplite SMART1500 UPS, and I'm having a little luck with the
tripplite_usb driver. Only a LITTLE though. It's working better than any
of the other drivers I've tried, but I'm not getting a status from it.
Here's the output of upsc:
battery.voltage: 0.00
battery.voltage.nominal: 36
driver.name: tripplite_usb
driver.parameter.port: /dev/hiddev0

Centos 6 Update?
All,
As much as I hate to ask, how is this project coming along? We are approaching the 4 month post-release point...

Choosing VPN Server
Hi,
I am facing a task of choosing vpn server. I do not know which is better.
The one distributed with CentOS4.5 only supports pppd (or maybe pptp but I
cannot find it).
If* *I want to use PPTP or L2TP, which one should I choose? OpenVPN? Poptop?
Thanks.

CentOS 7, systemd,, and message floods
I've just updated a couple of servers, latest 7.3, and systemd is flooding
dmesg, journalctl with info level messages... or maybe debug level 1.
Examples:

destination=n/a object=/org/freedesktop/systemd1/unit/httpd_2eservice
interface=org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties member=PropertiesChanged

Thread moderation and list etiquette (Reference - Another Fedora Decision)
Hi,
The thread titled "Another Fedora Decision" is rapidly turning into a
political and opinion driven flame fest that is unsuited for the CentOS
mailing list. This list should try and remain focused on CentOS, what we
have and keep the area sane for new users as well as old hands to
participate in a fair and thoughtful conversation around the CentOS
Linux platform and the CentOS

E-mail validtor??
Does anyone have a good working e-mail validator? or even some regexp to
make the validates_format_of work right... that would be awesome. Also,
maybe an online tutorial for regexp. i''ve always been afraid of it but i
think it''s time to face the fears.
thanks!
