...er which 'sudo apt upgrade r-base-dev' ran. As far as I can tell, I haven't totally borked my system (yet), and R 4.4.1 runs just fine, plus I am not getting any further complaints from apt. But the process probably isn't quite as intended. I've got a NT network set up talking to a Samba/Mastodon Linux host for files and printing, and my users and I have noticed one somewhat annoying thing about the samba server: we can't delete files from the print queue.
