How to join a Linux machine to a Samba4 domain
Hello, My question is about how to join a "Linux" machine to a "Samba4 AD DC" domain. Given that I have a "Samba4 AD DC" running on a machine (A), given that I have a another machine (B) running "Linux Debian Wheezy", can you tell me: 1) How I can join (B) to the domain? Do I have to install specific packages on (B)? Does it look like something like

DNS backend SAMBA_INTERNAL name resolution through VPN
Hi, My problem is about DNS names resolution in case there are two DNS servers separated by a VPN and one DNS domain name. Context: two Samba AD DC on each side of the VPN, one forest, one domain, one site, two subnets. Note that this target configuration is not yet operational since I'm trying to make the DSN names resolution work first through the VPN. The DNS servers are Samba internal

Wiki should have Readme First
Many first time users of Samba-4 seem to struggle with the same issues. I suggest the Wiki should have a Readme First similar like this: http://www.klaus-hartnegg.de/gpo/14-03-12-samba4.html It basicly says that Samba 4 can behave either like Samba 3, or as AD-DC, in which case it should do nothing else. Then it lists the main differences, limitations, and requirements. I would love to see a

Newbie difficulties on Samba4/Documentation
I am slowly teaching myself sufficient to get a Samba AD DC running on a very small network as a training exercise, replacing an ancient Samba PDC with at least 10 years worth of mistakes in it! I am not a computer specialist, but an electrical engineer who has some involvement in the IT system of a charity using AD (my reason for wanting to learn), and therefore this exercise has been

Join Windows machines to a Samba3 domain
Hello and thank you for reading my post. My problem is about joining Windows machines to a Samba3 domain. Below is what happened: 1) I installed the three servers DHCPD, BIND9 and SAMBA on a machine A running Debian Wheezy. I managed to join all the Windows machines in the LAN to the Samba3 domain properly. I insist on the fact that, at this point, everything was running properly: I
