PRI integration with Marconi switch
Hello-
Has anyone had experience connecting to a Marconi switch (in the UK) using
E1-PRI connections (TE410P)? In a new installation, my customer is getting
yellow alarms on every channel about every 30 seconds. These alarms clear
themselves immediately and then re-occur in another 30 seconds, ad
infinitum.
I used the same configuration that I've...

Live migration: 2500ms downtime
...me, but 50 times higher than what
it is told to be, isn''t.
I tried the same test connecting both machines on a hub, and got the same
results.
Did anybody try to measure the downtime during a live migration? How are the
results?
Any thoughts and suggestions are very appreciated.
Thanks,
Marconi.

Patch: Inbound-only busydetect
...led only for inbound
calls, and finding other people that think like me, I decided to try
to do it.
I have no idea of how to do it the "right/pretty" way, but, as usual,
I made it work the easiest/fastest way. So, any tips will be
appreciated.
Where to get it:

How to apply:
cp mr_busydetect.patch path-to/asterisk-1.0.1/channels
cd path-to/asterisk-1.0.1/channels
patch < mr_busydetect.patch
cd ..
make
make install -- if you really trust me :)
Please note the 1.0.1 version... I have no idea of what happens if

X100P blows up after a while (really loud noise)
...mess around with IRQs
in the BIOS. Today, I'm gonna disable onboard sound, to see if it
helps at all, but I think that without modules loaded, it would have
the same effect. I'll try this just to make sure...
Did someone have this problem too? Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions...?
Thanks,

Free WWT (WorldWideTelco): Utopia, or just a matter of organization?
...ged. So there could be some
king of billing (without commercial purposes, just to pay for the
costs), or something...
Asterisk is really powerful, and I believe that at least for a small
initial test, it wouldn't require anything else.
So, any thoughts on this? Critics, suggestions, ideas...

%d is empty in mail_location
I have this in dovecot-postfix.conf:
mail_location =
maildir:/home/mail/dnamesum=%12MLd/dname=%Ld/unamesum=%12MLn/uname=%Ln/mail
Yes, it is excessive, but that's just for testing. The pattern I really
want is less clear for debugging. In postfix/main.cf I have:
mailbox_command = /usr/lib/dovecot/deliver -c
/etc/dovecot/dovecot-postfix.conf -a "${RECIPIENT}"

IAX not binding to the right port

port setting for now... I tried different ports, with the same result.
Ignoring port for now... And the default port is bind.
Will an unblocked port make any difference? Since everything is
working the way it is? And why is there a port option if it doesn't
work?
Thanks,
Marconi.

Putting a call on hold
Hi,
How do I put a call on hold? If i press # the music on hold plays to
the other person, but asterisk asks for a number to transfer... I
don't want to transfer, I simply want to put the person on hold, so
he/she can hear the music while I do something, then get them off
hold. Is it possible?
The scenario: The person calls me from a SIP phone, and I receive the
call in a regular PSTN phone,

SER + Asterisk
...w that there's something there... So I would like to know why to
use SER. Is it because of scalability, performance, easier
administration, or what? And, if it is better, then why to use
Asterisk with it? Is it because of PSTN and/or IAX2 access, or the
voicemail, IVR, meetme and such?
Thanks,
Marconi.

Hi there,
I was looking for a GSM gateway, but I didn't find any prices...
Anybody knows how much one of these costs?
And, is it possible to use an amateur radio with asterisk?
Thanks,

But not with Labview. We have those problems when several users use

IP Phones ?
Hi guys,
I know this isn't strictly about Asterisk, but it is related...
I am looking to buy a few IP phones, but I don't have a huge budged (hence
why I love Asterisk, its amazing and free !), so I was wondering if anyone
knew where I could get some cheap IP Phones ?
Ideally they should be no more then about ?50 ($90).
Thanks, Paul.

kjournald hang on ext3 to ext3 copy
All,
I am running into a situation in which one of my ext3 filesystems is
getting hung during normal usage. There are three ext3 filesystems on a
CompactFLASH. One is mounted as / and one as /tmp. In my test, I am
copying a 100 MB file from /root to /tmp repeatedly. While doing this
test, I eventually see the copying stop, and any attempts to access /tmp
fail - if I even do ls /tmp the

Why no xen-vncfb in Xen''s 3.1 binary tarball?
...e,
It took me a while to find out that there were no xen-vncfb included in the
binary x86_64 (don''t know about the other architectures) tarball, and that
it was causing xm create to fail (obviously, when the domU had vfb defined).
Is there a reason for this? Or they just forgot?
Thanks,
Marconi.
