re: 120 GB larger hard disk
...ng that disk.
Perhaps a hdparm -i /dev/hdX could shine some light on this,
also a fdisk -l /dev/hdX could be useful.
For now - let me guess:
<guess>
To me, it seems, that the disk is clipped to 32GB, perhaps the
mainboard bios can not cope with a disk >32GB - just a thought.
Since the manufactorer knows that every customer would be angry having
a crippled disk, he *might* have installed a vendor software to
enlarge the disk to the real size. This runs fine under windows, but
in no-way under Linux
Then Windows was installed on top and this was running fine.
After repartitioning, the disk-s...

Re: [Asterisk] GSM access
Hi Mark
Did you or anyone else ever find a satisfactory solution to this? Are there any phones which provide voice through the serial connection?
What about the nokia card phone - does it have open source drivers?
Cheers

PCI or MiniPCI Hardware DSP for G.729, G.723.1 and/or GSM
Hi to all,
we are searching for a hardware based DSP solution for use
with Asterisk based on PCI or MiniPCI to reduce main processor
load and to use embedded boards with Digium E1/T1 cards like
TE410P.
does anyone know about any manufactorer of those cards or someone
who is able to develop/build such cards?
Specifications:
PCI or MiniPCI
up to 120 concurrent transcodings
Codecs: G.729/G.729A or G.723.1 or GSM or combinations of them
Thank you in advance,

Hardware compatibiltiy list -- NetUPS
Hallo,
I own a NETUPS 450 (Model on the sticker: PRM 450i; upsstats reports
"UPS 450 VA FW -0024") which perfectly works with the upscode2 driver.
Maybe you want to add it to your list, even if the model is >10 years
old.
I suppose this is true for the whole series. According manual the come
in the 450VA, 700VA, 1000VA and 1500VA strengths.
They have been sold under different

[Bridge] bridge problem when one interface is in blocking mode
Hi,
We have a simple bridge setup but the ping (and other
network traffic) does not work reliably. After tracing
the code, it looks like a software bug. Since bridge
software is been running by thousands of people. I
guess I am wrong. Anyway, here is the problem.
There are 2 boxes and each one has 2 interfaces, 1
ethernet and 1 wifi. STP is enabled for the bridge to
avoid the loop. So the box 1

E17 on CentOS6?
Hello there,
does anyone have experience setting up Enlightenment E17 on a CentOS6
system?
I know that the RPM's are available from:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/Enlightenment:/Factory/CentOS_CentOS-6/x86_64/
but don't have a single clue about how to switch from my GNOME desktop
to it once installed.
Regards,

Any way to boot a CD if no BIOS support & CD-ROM is not 100% standard?
I originally asked in a hardware/software forum, but, got basically no
results. It occured to me that if anyone would know, it would be you
people. What I'm wanting to do is set up a rescue disc for a really
old laptop. It needs to boot up a linux based CD, hopefully with
minimal to no working stuff on the harddrive (I plan to put a floppy
image to be written to a disk when needed to do the

VoIP over Alvarion Wireless
Hi,
This question isn't specifically asterisk related, but perhaps someone here
can shed some light or offer some insight.
Is anyone else here running VoIP over Alvarion wireless? If yes, do you
have any suggestions for what you've done to make it "work"? It seems that
no amount of traffic shaping, checking installs for error rates, lowering
error rates, or setting

storage servers crashing, hair being pulled out!
...Also, they have crashed being on the receiving
end of data via nfs.
Two of the servers are linked using drbd and heartbeat, the third is
stand alone.
Centos 5.4 x86-64 is the flavor of linux on all of them, pretty much
vanilla except for the drbd/iscsi stuff.
I want to go after the motherboard manufactorer, since I'm more
willing to suspect three mobos in a bad lot than three CPUs,
especially since one cpu is completely different than the other two.
The other variable is the two machines running drbd have promise raid
cards in them. I also have the same raid card in my personal server
at home....
