How do I change the resolution Wine reports to the app?
...o change the screen size (ALT-KP+) to really see the apps - it is as though they were targets to 640x480, and I am running 1600x1200. Yes, I realize that many windows programmers are horrid and use actual pixel sizes rather than point sizes, and fixed-size dialogs, and other atrocities against mankind, and that there is little Wine can do in such cases - but what can I do to improve things?

Some random thoughts
Dear all, I hope you will forgive me for posting without lurking, and indeed, without even being subscribed to the list. Let me first say that efforts such as Ogg shows there is still a lot of good in mankind, this is truly a great effort! While I haven't been lurking, I've been looking through the archives to see if this stuff has been discussed before, and I have also tried to read the docs, but a few files aren't there yet. That's OK. My primary reason for writing, is a really mindb...

How to disable XFree86 and wdm listening ports
Hello, what is the right way to disable XFree86 and wdm listening ports tcp 6000 and tcp 1024. I read in man XFree86 about the -nolisten tcp option and tried to set in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xdm :0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X -nolisten tcp but it was not successful. What is the right way to close the ports without use of IPFW? Your help would be appreciated. Thank?s Wolfgang

[LLVMdev] Fwd: Tiny bug in Kaleidoscope sample (FALSE ALARM)
...edence() returns -1 on error (i.e. if the input character is a character value above 127). 2. The caller of GetTokPrecedence() never checks for this so if the input character is an 8-bit character, it is treated as a valid binary operator. I know this won't make the planet explode and that mankind will possibly survive another 200 years despite this bug, but I thought you'd want to know. Very weird counter_cache behavior
Hi All, I''m using a counter_cache, which I believe I''m doing correctly because I can see this SQL query being executed in the development.log file: UPDATE gifts SET bookmarks_count = bookmarks_count + 1 WHERE (id = 276) However, in the gifts table, the bookmarks_count field isn''t incremented (it''s zero). If I literally copy and paste that query into the

imap failing
At a loss. I've removed and reinstalled all the ports that use openssl.so.10 now, and still having the same issue. At this point, I'm looking at just upgrading the whole system to freebsd 12.0 and seeing what happens. Not sure why the core files don't seem to cooperate with gdb, butI assume that is some freebsd configuration issue. If anyone has any other ideas though I am all ears.

If you want documentation, the most definitive source is the Microsoft Developers Network (MSDN). However, be warned that this is the most confusing set of documentation known to mankind. Every search returns redundant documentation split across multiple Windows and Windows-related products. ...restricting sftp or scp to a certain path? If there is already support for this, does anybody have a howto about this issue? Why I am asking this question: I want to provide ONLY uploading and downloading on a public server for very few users. These users will be authenticated by their keys. As mankind is very nosy I want to suppress any "just looking around in your server attempts". They just have to see their upload and download area - nothing more.
