Help with list maintance
Hello, Since the list was upgraded I have noticed i am getting 2 copies of each message. I only today had a chance to look into this and wonder if someone can help me figure out what's happening & clean up my list subscription. For every post I am seeing identical posts from 2 different hosts: 1) westfish.xiph.org 2) master.debian.org I am guessing that there is a listserv running on

CentOS 7 - xfs shrink & expand
...correspond to LVMs.? It is my understanding that one cannot shrink a xfs filesystem.? One must back it up (xfsdump), remove (lvremove) redefine it and then restore it back (xfsrestore). Okay, I'm running into a problem where /home? needs to be "unused".? If tried going in to "maintance mode", but I ran into a problem with the mount command (after issuing a 'chroot /sysroot').? I then tried using SystemRescueCD to boot to, but it wouldn't mount my 32TB RAID USB drive (something about too big). Any thoughts or suggestions? -Frank

Execute a user script whenever a user is added in the domain
Hi, I am using the ADUC-tool on Windows PCs to add users to the domain. Now I also need to do some maintance work on the linux server (DC). Is there an option that I've overlooked or any other way to execute a shell script whenever a user is added? Ideally it would be executed on each DC. If there isn't a built-in way, would it be possible by monitoring one of the ldb-files for changes? I know...

Using Shorewall + Linux Virtual Server LVS/DR
I''m havign a HUGE amount of difficulty getting shoreline to work with LVS. We use it here constantly so we know it works. The problem is packets come in, get directed to a webserver, webserver returns the packet to firewall, and then it goes into a black hole. rp_filter is off globally on all interfaces. LVS seems to be working right.... I use shorewall tcrules to mark packets on

Looking for mkdosfs for Syslinux 1.67
...;m not a unix person.. I started using it back in 2002...to update hard drives that used a 'superfloppy format' (if anyone remembers the old DigitalWallet from Minds at work!) I fixed several of them after the company went belly up for photographer friends of mine. I mostly use it to do HD maintance...fixing fats...restoring backup copies..etc. I found it simplier (and more dangerous) to use the DD rather than software packages...alot more flexibility. I've written a few small scripts to do what I need over the years. I guess...what I need is a 'mini unix'..that will boot from c...

Anybody want EBCDIC Support for Samba 1.9.18?
We've ported samba 1.9.18p1 to OS/390 Unix (nee MVS), and it seems to be very much in demand among the mainframe folks. We'd like to integrate our changes back into the mainline development stream. Our changes consist entirely of patches to ensure that the code works on an EBCDIC system, as well as a new facility that allows for ASCII/EBCDIC data conversion on the fly for files

General questions and problems with exec...
Hi, I''m in the process of evaluating puppet and cfengine for a rollout on a mix of in-house servers and managed customer servers. I''ve always been a pro-cfengine man, and it''s already running on a small setup of 5 machines. But even though I have pretty clear idea of how I should proceed building the system, I''m intimidated by the vast amount of

Which imapd?
Hi. What imapd can you recommend for minimum configuration and maintenance (no Cyrus)? This is for a small shop, so no hard performance requirements. I'd prefer one where I don't have to build my own packages (no Courier, unless packages exist). Thanks. Morten
