I initially discarded Mailcow because of this: "mailcow: dockerized comes with multiple containers" The installat...

Looking for a guide to collect all e-mail from the ISP mail server
> What you are looking for would be a very advanced setup > [...] I don't think so. But we'll see! I would be happy to take a pre-packaged mail server solution like iRedMail which includes RoundCube or whatever. I just need a "easy", practical guide to reconfigure it to 1) download e-mails from a multidrop, and 2) relay external e-mail to the ISP's SMTP server.

Apple Mail and subfolders
...suggesting that all is well in terms of Dovecot configuration. Subfolders created here though show up as a proper hierarchy in Apple Mail, but their contents is not displayed, so the user thinks the subfolder is empty. This definitely used to work fine in the past. Running 2.3.10.1 as part of the Mailcow suite. -F

...om Trash: May 29 08:02:17 hostname dovecot: imap(some at mail)<7725><xxb6+VFtL+JT0CE 8>: Debug: imapsieve: mailbox Trash: FLAG event (changed flags: \Deleted) I have Dovecot 2.3.1 (8e2f634) and Pigeonhole 0.5.1 for sieve. My configuration can be found here: https://github.com/pschiffe/mailcow-dockerized/tree/master/data/conf/dovecot There is enabled support for sieve config in sql, but all sieve tables are empty, and there are no sieve filters for Trash flagging. Do you know how to find the source of that Trash flag event? I need to disable it or to configure it so it deletes emails a...

Sieve setting a flag on the server (with sieve?)
I want to run a cron job for specific users. I thought the easiest would be a sieve plugin that sets some text in managesieve.sieve. And I just have my cron job check for this setting. This is the forward sieve: if false # true { redirect :copy "test at test.com"; } So maybe something like: if false # true { # cronjob1 } Or is there a better way of doing such a

doveadm sync backup from old to new server
So I've done quite a lot of searching on the list and on the web - and perhaps my google-fu is really bad - but I can't find any real recipes on how to sync mail from the old server to the new. As an FYI - the old server is a CPanel/WHM setup on a VPS. The new is mailcow - which uses docker. However, I don't think either of these platforms is what's causing the issue - but I'm certainly not sure of that. --- I've tried several things - but have lost track of all the things I've tried. This seemed like the best of all the things I've tried....

lmtp: Error: Temp file creation to /tmp/ ... failed: No such file or directory on incoming mails with attachments
Dear list, I'm currently facing problems when receiving eMails with attachments, at least sometimes. My mailserver is set up with the tool 'Mailcow', and hence is based on Dovecot (2.2.22 (fe789d2)) and Postfix. Usually, there are no problems with receiving mails. If a mail has an attachment, however, it is possible that the following error occurs (extract from /var/log/mail.log): 'Jun 7 12:50:28 mail postfix/lmtp[26827]: 564E68A051...

Changing IMAP separator - does it break things?
...I set up a vanilla Dovecot server elsewhere and subfolders worked fine there on the very same macOS client. Couldn?t find any significant difference in the configs that would explain the problem, also the relative lack of similar reports out there seemed mind boggling. (I?m using the Dovecot-based Mailcow mail stack for production, which makes troubleshooting a little more challenging.) -F

...I found, a slash character should be good or even recommended, suggesting this is some kind of bug in Apple Mail, but I?m not versed enough in the IMAP related RFCs to understand. >> >> This definitely used to work fine in the past. >> >> Running 2.3.10.1 as part of the Mailcow suite. > > I'm not familiar with that. Quota set-up problems
Hi, I've recently started using Dovecot as our main mail storage, and it's performing great. But I have a question/problems with quotas. First of we are using: dovecot --version 2.2.32 (dfbe293d4) Dovecot is a part of a pre set environment (mailcow-dockerized) Aside the inbox namespace we have set-up an additional archive ns (Archiwum) like this namespace Archiwum { ??? type = private ??? separator = / ??? prefix = Archiwum/ ??? location = maildir:/var/vmail/arch/%n:INDEXPVT=~/Maildir/Archiwum ??? subscriptions = yes ??? list = yes...

Changing IMAP separator - does it break things?
...who do not use nested folders do not seem to be affected. That is, I've already suggested to the Mac Mail user that he start Thunderbird, move all his mailboxes into the IMAP root folder, and then go on using Mac Mail. ...y dude - I kinda get it, but no, I'd never pick your way of doing it, and I'm not surprised that there's almost no one who has cranked a complete example of it either. Not trying to make fun of you, but dang, the time wasted in this thread could probably have paid for 5 years of hosted mailcow. Cheers! Do have fun. -Greg >> 2. install and configure OfflineIMAP to synchronize the IMAP folders between your ISP IMAP server and your Dovecot server; see for example >> http://www.offlineimap.org/doc/quick_start.html RD> OfflineIMAP is not the way to go. Dovecot Proxy
...a little bit like that. The Director would be interesting, if all the mailservers in the backend would know each other. But thats not the case. Mailserver A and Mailserver B are hosting complete different domains with a complete different user list and complete different user admins, etc. Also mailcow doesnt enabled the director. So it will not help much. But it could be interesting, if I have multiple proxies. Yes, the submission service inside Dovecot is there. And I tried to avoid to install multiple "programs" and if there is one "program" that handles it all, why don...
