[Fwd: [suse-amd64] OFF-TOPIC - *very* bad]
I saw this on the SuSE AMD64 list & decided to pass it along, since it
seems like a sneaky problem. Later posts confirm it is *NOT*
AMD64-specific, nor SuSE 9.3 specific ....

Correlation with LNAELV ....
...y, betwixt RHEL, err, I mean LNAELV

or periodically re-sync ?

this for years now :-) ?

How do I disable auto-logout ....

I checked man pages on both host & VM, but came up blank. I have another
box running CentOS 5.6 native & it doesn't do this, so I suspect it is
something w/ the VM environment. How do I disable that :-) ? Thanks in
advance.

Shutdown script not being run
I've got an odd problem. My server will not shutdown normally because
the AoE driver is not being shut down properly. While investigating the
problem, I found that the aoe script is apparently not being called for
shutdown. I have been able to duplicate this with a brand new test
script.
My test script is just a simple file that echos back the start or stop
command:
#!/bin/bash

It failed repeatedly. The error message is:-

Hi William, its the only HDD on that machine. All the partitions are
mounted. The error message refers to the HDD, not to any of the mounted

(re)connecting to the console of the VM & that hung, I had to kill the
virsh command from another window. I attach syslog output from the
proceedings. I am *sure* this is pilot error, but I am stuck for now.
Any assistance appreciated :-) ....

all of that was used up swapping the guest back in. Is there any way to

Checking if the VM has been created
I'm a Libvirt newbie and I'd really appreciate it if someone could answer
my doubts. I'm using Libvirt's Java API.
My doubts:
1.Currently, I'm able to create a VM on Ubuntu 11.04 using Libvirt
functions domainCreateLinux() and domainDefineXML(). Apart fromt the
boolean return status of these operations and running the virsh list
command, is there any way to SSH in (login) to

Firefox, Flash and Java on CentOS 4.1 x86-64
First of all, I just want to say *again* how happy I am with CentOS.
Across our boxes and our clients boxes, we're running it on more than 20
machines at the moment and it's by far the most painless OS to
administer in detail that I've ever used. (Of course, I'm an old Slak
hat, but ...) Thanks so much to the community and the maintainers.

Software RAID and GRUB on CentOS 7
Hi,
When I perform a software RAID 1 or RAID 5 installation on a LAN server
with several hard disks, I wonder if GRUB already gets installed on each
individual MBR, or if I have to do that manually. On CentOS 5.x and 6.x,
this had to be done like this:
# grub
grub> device (hd0) /dev/sda
grub> device (hd1) /dev/sdb
grub> root (hd0,0)
grub> setup (hd0)
grub> root (hd1,0)

mkfs.ext3 on a 9TB volume
Hello,
I have:
CentOS4.1 x86_64
directly-attached Infortrend 9TB array QLogic HBA seen as sdb
GPT label created in parted
I want one single 9TB ext3 partition.
I am experiencing crazy behavior from mke2fs / mkfs.ext3 (tried both).
If I create partitions in parted up to approx 4,100,000 MB in parted,
mkfs.ext3 works great. It lists the right number of blocks and creates
a filesystem that fills
