question re. package playwith not able to run command getting error message that I'm attempting to use non function
...ase graphics is now ON.
Automatic `playwith` for grid graphics is now ON.
> plot(1:10)
Error in playwith(plot(1:10), envir = <environment>) :
attempt to apply non-function
Error in plot.xy(xy, type, ...) : plot.new has not been called yet
Any advice about why it is not working.

Feature selection
...rom. So, my question is what are the methods used for choosing the best and smallest subset out of those 18 to predict y ? I tried the common ways: std. and corr, multiple regression is hard because of all the possibile combinations I have to try, so any ideas?
Thank you,
Maha

help with ancestral.pars in phangorn package
..., (1,2,4,8) etc,
do these represent reconstruction uncertainties??
Also if you have any advice on how to extract a "change list" from this
ancestral.pars output, (ie a list of character changes at each variable site
in the sequence and in which nodes/organisms) I would be very thankful.

system is computationally singular: reciprocal condition number
Hi folks,
I know, this is a fairly common question and I am really disappointed that I
could not find a solution.
I am trying to calculate Mahanalobis distances in a data frame, where I have
several hundreds groups and several hundreds of variables.
Whatever I do, however I subset it I get the "system is computationally
singular: reciprocal condition number" error.
I know what it means and I know what should be the problem, but...
