Win2K Workstation Disconnecting Shares from Samba Server
...I've got to believe it's an obscure client setting on
the Win2K boxes, but I can't find anything about it.
All the shares on all 14 workstations are made via a
login.bat, so these 2 workstations aren't mapping
anything differently from the other 12.

Lost Access to Logon Profiles after upgrade to samba 3 Beta 2
...t's a basic Samba setup. Uses Unix passwords and Unix accounts, etc. Nothing fancy - no virtual accounts or anything like that. Samba server is running as the PDC. Been bullet-proof.
I've trolled looking for Samba 2 to Samba 3 upgrade issues and logon profiles issues to no avail.

Which Linux best suits Samba3?
In a discussion with one of the main answer people, of whose time I am
greatly appreciative, it was suggested that some of my problem (or
solution) may be to run Samba on a distro that's better suited for it.
Problem is, I don't have the time nor the inclination to download a
bunch of distros just to install, test, fdisk, repeat.
So I ask. what is a recommended recent distro that works

Laptop users as domain members; profiles
I would like to implement Samba as a PDC in our organization, but am wrestling with how to handle laptop users.
If I join them to the domain and give them a domain account, I will still need to allow them a local account so that they can logon on the road. This means that they will have two distinct accounts and two distinct profiles. I could initially make the two profiles identical by
