Lattice stacked barplot vertical bars
Dear all, I have made a barplot using lattice in which the bars are stacked horizontally. I would like to stack them vertically, but if I use the parameter 'horizontal = FALSE' I get the error: 'Error in FUN(X[[i]], ...) : invalid 'type' (character) of argument'. The problem I face is that, in drawing the bars vertically, the y variable becomes numeric rather than

date conversion not as i would have expected

By using the edit() function, this is what one of the dates looks like in R: > x <- structure(1254351600, class = c("POSIXt", "POSIXct"), tzone = "") [1] "2009-10-01 BST" However, when i do the following, the date changes: > as.Date(x, formate="%Y-%m-%d" ) [1] "2009-09-30" I

strip.custom with strip on left for three conditioning variables
I want to use a strip.custom as with useOuterStrips for three conditioning variables. useOuterStrips restricts this to only two conditioning variables, and I cannot figure out how to write strip.custom properly to do this. library(lattice) mtcars$HP <- equal.count(mtcars$hp) #with two factors x2<-xyplot(mpg ~ disp | HP + factor(cyl), mtcars) useOuterStrips(x2) #with three factors

Array as time series?
Dear R-helpers, I have 4-dimensional atmospheric data (x,y,z,t), which I want to analyse on spatio-temporal diversities. As far as I understand there only exists the possibility to construct time series as two-dimensional matrices (mts). For the moment, I hold it in different objects: 1. a four-dimensional array for the spatial related analyses 2. a two-dimensional mts timeserie, which was
