2FA for Dovecot
...t it isn't a research project either. Just a little firewall programming. I get the CIDRs from bgp.he.net.
I am assuming this is a personal server.
A bit extreme, but you could set up a VPN on a VPS and only allow that IP to send and receive email.

doveadm feature request: move mailbox between users
A feature request for doveadm: move (or copy) mailboxes between users
Something like:
doveadm movemailbox -s User1 -d User2 Old/Mail/Box Destin/Ation/Path
(the same with copymailbox)
Or something like that is already possible?

MySQL stale socket
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

I have a server with a faulty power supply that resets the server every 4/5
hours.
While I wait for the supplier to change the PS, I am facing an issue with MySQL.
When the system comes back on, mysqld script starts the daemon, but the
connections via /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock don't work because MySQL doesn't

Log rotation?
? Hi people.
? I had read dovecot logging info, they say something about using log
rotation to help us rotate our log, with this setup:

delaycompress
sharedscripts
postrotate
/bin/kill -USR1 `cat /var/run/dovecot/master.pid 2>/dev/null` 2>

Moving Maildir folders
Our office had a user leave. Another user is taking over her duties and needs reference to the
departing user's email. I've copied that entire departed user's Maildir structure to the current
user:
mv olduser/Maildir/.* curuser/Maildir/.olduser
I did change permission and ownership on curuser/Maildir/.olduser to be the target user. I did
not bring over the olduser/Maildir/dovecot*

I have a Linux CentOS server, 4 Gb RAM, with 50 IMAP users.
The server is connected to LAN via a firewall appliance, no filtering applied.
Many users with different clients complain a lot of "server disconnected" errors.
On the server side Doveco does not report any kind of error. I just ab an
unusual rate of "IMAP(xxxxxx at xxxx):

2FA for Dovecot
Hi,
My goal is to protect my mail account with 2FA, which isn't a crazy
idea in 2020. Therefore, I would like to know the possibilities of
configuring 2FA for Dovecot. In the documentation there are some hints
of e.g. OTP in Dovecot [1] and using FreeIPA with Dovecot [2], where
FreeIPA has the ability to enable OTP per user [3].
But I can't really find much practical information about
