Aw: Re: Re: rsync not copy all information for font file
Ram, ? Look inside the .AppleDouble folder and tou will find the resource forks that hold the main part of the font data. ? Not a 'problem' with netatalk, but just how netatalk works so that it can represent apple files on non-apple filesystems. ? ?If you confirm the data all matches, this will prove rsync is working properly. ? C7: EPEL conflicts with Base and ElRepo?
Hi everyone, This just came to my attention --- I have CentOS 7 installed on one machine, and have configured elrepo and epel as additional repositories. When I turned on the yum-priorities package (and set up priorities in the order base&updates < elrepo < epel), it turns out that there are 65 conflicting packages between base and epel, and additional 5 between elrepo and epel (there

(OT) Novell Community Offer; CentOS LUG; VMWare
There was some interest in the IRC channel on the latest Novell offering to the trade. This is interesting as it contains a full non-timebombed VMWare instance, in addition to the Novell technical offerings mentioned in the E-Mail below. Novell has announced a renewal of their periodic DVD sampler program -- feel free to indulge. Additionally, there was a offer some months directly from

Re: [slugnet] Password Expiry
Hi Elliot, I couldn't find anything related to smbpasswd expiry. Since u have "unix password sync = true", just a wild guess, if u could turn off password ageing in unix passwd file (man passwd for more detail) and see if problem persists. [OT] Oldest Telephone
While the rest of you were chatting about the smallest * server, I was sitting her staring at the telephone hanging on the wall. It is a Western Electric set in a varnished pine box with an earpiece you hold in your left hand and a mouthpiece attached to the box. You crank the magneto with your right hand to signal the switchboard. The two dry cells inside are dated 1935, and I'm

MP3 encoding of Monitor files
I have having problems trying to take a file recorded with Monitor and convert it to MP3. When I use 'play' to play the .wav file, it sounds fine. After bladenc'ing it, it plays at lightening speed, and the voices are all high pitch. I tried using sox to resample to 32000 before encoding, but that didnt work either. Do any of you convert your .wav files to mp3? Monitor call:

Job opportunities for Linux. [OT]
I am currently into Engineering, and I am working slowly on my Knowledge / Know-How of Linux. I am eager to know about the Job Opportunities for people who have considerably good knowledge in Linux. This thought has popped up in my mind, due to the reason that I was watching out my Local LUG, and somebody quoted like..."There aren't much Job Opportunities for Linux Knowledge compared to

Touching shoutcast.com directory with Icecast2
Hello, Is there a way to touch Shoutcast directory with an Icecast server ? Is for a mp3 stream. The server is already serving ogg stream but our foundation got a new member that did not know about ogg, and he needs time to encode his tracks to ogg, and then we should temporarily relay his mp3 stream, but we want to be dired by SC directory ... How to ? :-) -- ASPO Infog?rance

We have several dedicated servers for our foundation (we made the LUG a foundation, for administrative and papers...) We are able to relay some video or audio streams. We have, for the mooment 3 servers, with both 6Mbps (yes it's not huge, but it's better than nothing :-) ) The condition on
