Latest CentOS does not boot, Proliant ML330 G6
Hello all. I just upgraded to the latest and tried to reboot: kernel panic and dead as a brick. Luckily GRUB still works and booting the to the next option in boot menu succeeds. How can this be? This OS is assumed to be solid as a brick :) br. jarif -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Name: signature.asc Type: application/pgp-signature Size: 195

Recommendation for a Linux alternative to Centos - ATH9K disaster
I persuaded a reluctant friend to buy a new computer. I enthusiastically extolled the joys and benefits of Centos and promised to install it on his new machine - dual booting with Micro$oft Windoze 7. His super-duper new laptop arrived. Acer, AMD 4 core, fast etc. but not as nice looking as my impressive HP DV5. The wireless refused to connect. After 8 hours on Saturday I could sometimes see

Incoming Calls Getting Crossed - Weird
Hey, I got a weird one for you guys, I am running vanilla 1.2.4 and have all incoming calls come in as SIP from teliax. Twice over the past week 2 callers who have called in around the same time end up talking to each other instead of going through the ivr or at some point during the IVR. One said, yeah i was talking to another patient and we had a convo. I have double checked the dialplan and

Beware - Yum 3.5 to 3.6 upgrade replaces named.conf
You get so used to yum upgrades going so smoothly but I learned the hard way to always make a thorough inspection after a yum update. I let yum go ahead and upgrade from 3.5 to 3.6. Afterwards I made some basic queries to httpd, postfix and bind named (probably a cached query). I even checked the /var/named/ directory and saw all my hosts files. So looked like another smooth ride, well until

CD Baby using FLAC to archive 40,000 CDs
Hey FLAC gang - Just thought you'd like to know CD Baby has switched to FLAC for archiving the 40,000 CDs we have in stock. Luckily HD space is down below $1/gig so we got a 6-terabyte RAID-5 box set up for about $7000. Got the FreeBSD boxes churning away night and day, ripping and archiving. I'll do a more formal press release for ya in a couple months as we're further along, but

[LLVMdev] Linux-x86 Compatability
ISSUE: In Interpreter::getCurrentExecutablePath(), dladdr() is a Solarisism. Luckily, getCurrentExecutablePath isn't being currently used anywhere in lli. ACTION: Wrap the method contents with #ifdef __sun__ ... #else return ""; #endif. If this functionality is actually desired, it would be more portable to hack up main() to join getcwd() with basename(argv[0]) to find the

Raid5 issues
So when I couldn't get the raid10 to work, I decided to do raid5. Everything installed and looked good. I left it overnight to rebuild the array, and when I came in this morning, everything was frozen. Upon reboot, it said that 2 of the 4 devices for the raid5 array failed. Luckily, I didn't have any data on it, but how do I know that the same thing won't happen when I have

[OT maybe] netcafe firewall
Hi all, I appologise in advance if this is a little OT, but I am building a box that will serve as firewall and router for a small ''internet cafe / netcafe'' and am using CentOS... So here it is: What are the best tools to be used for keeping the potential script kiddies from ''harming the Internet'' :) ? I specifically want to be able to detect and prevent

A suggestion to improve ifelse behaviour with vector yes/no arguments
Dear All, I luckily found the following feature (or problem) when tried to apply ifelse-function to an ordered data. > test <- c(TRUE, TRUE, TRUE, FALSE, FALSE, FALSE, FALSE) > ifelse(test, 0, 1:4) [1] 0 0 0 4 1 2 3 > It roots into the ifelse-syntax: ans[!test & !nas] <- rep(no, length.out = length(ans))[!test & !nas] Would it be possible to disable this feature in the

Icecast status-json.xsl improvements
While http://127.0.0.1:8000/status-json.xsl?mount=/live is fine for info on the server itself and the current track played it's missing a played history. I'd like to suggest adding history to status-json.xsl or to reduce the size of the json to the bare minimum that a Web base mediaplayer might need Add a new one at http://127.0.0.1:8000/playing-json.xsl?mount=/live Which will only

Small change to make dovecot pop3 uw-imap migration friendly
Hi, today I've finished migration from uw-imap daemons to shiny and fast dovecot. With thanks of dovecot my mail server load average drops by factor of ten even with ancient unix mailboxes. ;-) So, the only thing I've discovered is what POP3 uidls are different than ones used in the uw-imap. Luckily, the difference are only in the format string used in uidl response. So, I've

find weighted group mean
HI, I am trying to figure out an efficient way to calculate group means and associate each entry with it. I made up an example: A = rep(rep(0:1,each=2),3) B = rep(rep(0:1,4),3) C = rep(rep(c(0,0,1,1),2),3) X =cbind(rnorm(24,0,1),runif(24,0,1),A,B,C) A B C [1,] -1.92926469 0.32213127 0 0 0 [2,] -0.83935617 0.77794096 0 1 0 [3,] -1.27799751

SelectionDAG::LegalizeTypes is very slow in 3.1 version
In 3.1, the backend is very slow to legalize types. Following is the code snippet which may be the culprit: %Result.i.i.i97 = alloca i33, align 8 %Result.i.i.i96= alloca i33, align 8 %Result.i.i.i95 = alloca i33, align 8 %Result.i.i.i94 = alloca i33, align 8 %Result.i.i.i93 = alloca i33, align 8 %Result.i.i.i92= alloca i33, align 8 %Result.i.i.i91 = alloca i33, align 8

how to model this
Dear list, I met with a business case and feel frustrated to model it,scenario is like this 1. logistics department running 2. a lot of customers place orders and goods need to be send to their site (nationwide) 3. order received and then choose from a list of truck carriers to deliver goods,a cheapest one should be selected but might not available for the limit of order-shipment time,so a more

PSA: Potential lit workflow change
Hi all, I've got https://reviews.llvm.org/D37756 up for review currently which simplifies a lot of the logic in our lit config files. For most people, this will be completely transparent and "just work", but it breaks one workflow that people should be aware of. Problem: If you run lit by putting llvm-config in your path and then running <source-root>/utils/lit/lit.py

logos and goodies
I've got a couple questions related to my search (in vain) for an "R" tshirt or coffee mug. The first question is simply: is there a higher-resolution R logo available than the one at r-developer.org? (or the modified one provided by useR conference pages) Next: what are the chances of someone in the "R management" setting up a cafepress.com "R
