Nut problems with Centos and Belkin UPS
...NV is supported - and I assumed that
the "au" would not prevent this.
I plugged in the USB to gather the information you requested. My
intention was to use the serial connection and probably still is, though
if there is a solution via USB - I would certainly consider it.
I tried "lsusb -W" (as suggested) but this seems an invalid option so I
assume you mean "lsusb -v"
Below is the relevant part of the output from "lsusb -v".
I had a look at the Belkin site recently - and it looks like the model

Now I've got another of those WTF questions. This ups doesn't ID itself
the same to an lsusb as it does to upsc.
From an lsusb:

From a upsc:

Hello again, thanks for your reply.
I plug a USB Hub in OpenWRT but there is nothing in "lsusb" and
"dmesg". In a Debian server I have this:
# lsusb

I have an Astribank (8FXS/16FXO), IBM X3200 M2, Asterisk-1.6.2.1,
dahdi-linux-complete-2.2.1, libpri-1.4.10.2, centos-5.4 final.
My problem is, every time i unplug the astribank power supply, and
reconnect it, astribank cannot work again (lsusb result is 11x0)...
but, after reinstall the asterisk and dahdi, astribank will detected (lsusb result is 11x2)...
any suggestion?
Regard,
frank.

salicru UPS in OpenWRT
Thanks Charles,
This is the permission tree:
# ls -l /dev/bus/usb/001/001
crw-r--r-- 1 root root 189, 0 Feb 8 20:23 /dev/bus/usb/001/001
If I attache the USB cable there is nothing in dmesg, and there is
nothing in lsusb:
# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
It looks like it is not detected. In Debian it looks great:
# lsusb
Bus 004 Device 008: ID 0665:5161 Cypress Semiconductor USB to Serial
USB drives works great, they are showed in dmesg and in lsusb.
Regards.

The two IDs are vendor (VID) and product (PID). lsusb looks them up in a text file, typically /usr/share/misc/usb.ids, and concatenates the vendor and product strings in the short...

Detect if a drive is USB?
...me. Part of the script is to detect USB
drives and mount them. Previously, It worked something like
isUsbDevice() {
if [ -f /sys/block/$1/usb ] ; then
// do stuff
fi;
}
but I don't find the "usb" file/directory anywhere to be found any more
on el6. I've tried the output of lsusb and lsusb -v but in no case have
I been able to find anything there matching anything in /sys/block that
matching anything in lsusb's output.
Given an available drive (EG: /dev/sdk) how can I reliably tell it's
interface type? (USB/SATA/PATA/SCSI ?)

xm usb-add syntax
Hi all,
Do any of you know what the syntax would be is I wanted to add the
first device listed using lsusb on my dom0 to my domU?
lsusb;
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 064f:0bd8 Some-Systems AB ABC/DE
xm usb-add;
Usage: xm usb-add <domain> <[host:bus.addr] [host:vendor_id:product_id]>
Unsure what combo works, other then what doesn''t work.

driver looking for MAXIM MXE II
Hello:
I have a UPS model MXE II MAXIM brand online, 3500VA 2100W.
Connects to the PC by a USB 2.0 port.
I wanted to use nut, but this brand is not on the list of nut drivers.
lsusb returns:
...
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 06DA: 0201 Phoenixtec Power Co., Ltd
...
I did not find this manufacturer in the driver list.
Anyone know if you can have compatibility with other make and model of UPS.
With what driver it could start testing?
Greetings and thanks,

Tries to reconnect forever. It never initially connected. Maxretry was in
the configuration file as a default of the new installation. I added from
the user = nut to the end.
