Hardware raid LSI Megaraid not working since Centos 6.6
Happy new year ! We have a SuperMicro server with a LSI MegaRAID 9260-4i controller. Since Centos 6.6 update (kernel 2.6.32-504), the controller doesn't initialize at boot. Reverting to kernel 2.6.32-431 allows server to boot fine. The server can't boot due to a bug in LSI megaraid module. Boot log ends by a lot of lines: RESET_GEN2: retry...

OT: LSI SAS1068e / Perc6/iR RAID Health
Is anybody here monitoring Dell SAS6/iR RAID health? I have a mix of CentOS 5.9 and 6.3 installs on the PE1950s. I'm finding drivers and Megaraid Storage Manager downloads via LSI's site, but I'd prefer not to install a bunch of crapware. All I need is the proper LSI daemon which exports info via SNMP. I've used check_sasraid_megaraid Nagios script [0] in the past for PERC5i and PERC6i controllers in Dell PE2950s. For 2950s I've only had to install sas_snm...

LSI software raid with centos 5.4
Hi, I have been trying to install CentOS 5.4 on a Intel SR1530SHS, Intel S3200SH mainboard.. It has a 3 x 1TB sata hotswap drives with LSI software raid onboard. I had configured the LSI to have Sata0 and Sata1 with raid 1 and the third drive as a hotspare drive. Format the harddisk and installation was a breeze. The server rebooted into a blank screen and the cursor just keep blinking. Please advise. Thanks wL

problem adding second MD1000 enclosure to LSI 9200-16e
I have 15x SAS drives in a Dell MD1000 enclosure, attached to an LSI 9200-16e. This has been working well. The system is boothing off of internal drives, on a Dell SAS 6ir. I just tried to add a second storage enclosure, with 15 more SAS drives, and I got a lockup during Loading Kernel. I got the same results, whether I daisy chained the enclosures, or plugged t...

Semi-OT: LSI raid card sorta....
I've got a box running C7, just updated (yesterday). It had an onboard RAID controller, and an HBA. I just installed a new, additional RAID card, all LSI. MegaCli64 only sees one controller. I can't seem to find the magic to see the others. I *know* the new card is a MegaRAID - the box it came in says so. The system sees it 1:00.0 RAID bus controller: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic SAS1078 PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS (rev 04) 42:00.0 RAID bus control...

Installing CentOS 5.4 64bit on server with LSI SAS 1068E controller.
I'm trying to install CentOS 5.4 on a machine with a LSI SAS 1068E controller. I've googled all over the place and found a few different drivers for RHEL5 for it.. and tried a few of them.. Some will load, some complain that this isn't the correct version.. non of them work when it comes to showing Hard Drivers in the partition manager. The...

You may have to fiddle with the firmware to get it to stop trying to do clever RAID stuff, which lets you do smart RAID stuff like ZFS instead. I?m sure you can reflash LSI card to make it SATA or SAS HBA, or MegaRAD hardware RAID adapter. Is far as I recollect it is...

Has anyone used a Dell with a PERC H310?
Hello Sa?o! I found you here: http://mail.opensolaris.org/pipermail/zfs-discuss/2012-May/051546.html "How about reflashing LSI firmware to the card? I read on Dell''s spec sheets that the card runs an LSISAS2008 chip, so chances are that standard LSI firmware will work on it. I can send you all the required bits to do the reflash, if you like." I got Dell Perc H310 controller for do-it-yourself experiments, I...

LSI MegaRAID experience...
Hey, anyone using an LSI MegaRAID experienced "disappearing drives"...? We installed 6 new C6 servers, each with a Supermicro SMC2108 (LSI MegaRAID) controllers and 3 PX-128M5Pro SSDs ( RAID1 + hostswap). 2 weeks (and almost no activity on it, since not in production, apart from installation) later, megacli sees...

ZFS Appliance as a general-purpose server question
A customer is looking to replace or augment their Sun Thumper with a ZFS appliance like 7320. However, the Thumper was used not only as a protocol storage server (home dirs, files, backups over NFS/CIFS/Rsync), but also as a general-purpose server with unpredictably-big-data programs running directly on it (such as corporate databases, Alfresco for intellectual document storage, etc.) in order to

c6, LSI megaraid drive failure notification
i'm configuring a storage server with CentOS 6.2, it uses a LSI MegaRAID SAS controller, I'm using LSI's megacli to configure the storage... Any ideas on how to get drive failure notifications out of this system? I'm configuring hot spares but I'd still like some sort of notification when a drive has failed so the spare can be replaced....

LSI MegaRAID system status
Dear list, I have inherited a CentOS-5 box with a LSI Sata Raid controller. It is configured as a RAID5 w/hot-standby. My concern is that I have no present means of determining the RAID status w/o downing the system and going into the bios to get status. If a disk has failed and brought the standby disk online, I would like to know about it, the day...

This QEMU doesn't support the LSI 53C895A SCSI controller
Hi all, trying to edit a domain xml to enable an LSI SCSI controller I get the following error: error: unsupported configuration: This QEMU doesn't support the LSI 53C895A SCSI controller It is my understanding that the error is raised due to RedHat disabling this controller in its own qemu-kvm builds. This seems an unfortunate decision, as...
