Deploy puppet via NFS?
In our environ, there are several services that are deployed via an
NFS mount, so that the executables and configs are consistent across
the board.
Is there any reason why this couldn''t be done with Puppet? For
example, each individual system would contain its own /etc/puppet and
rc.d and pid files -- but the primary deployment would come from
NFS.

So you are saying when I do the virt-sparsify its converting the image
from raw to cow2?
I studied the man page for virt-sparsify and tried again with
the flag "--format raw" (output2.cow2). This output files looks as I
first expected.

Foreman / external_node.rb
Hello All,
I''m trying to start using external nodes under foreman, and I''m
running into some issues. I have the entries in puppet.conf:
[main]
external_nodes = /etc/puppet/external_node.rb
node_terminus = exec
The enternal_node.rb script is the one that came with foreman:
#!/usr/bin/ruby

No. virt-sparsify will use the same input and output formats, unless
you use the --convert option.

R programming style
I am aware of one (unofficial) guide to style for R programming:
http://www1.maths.lth.se/help/R/RCC/
from Henrik Bengtsson.
Can anyone provide further pointers to good style?
Views on Bengtsson's ideas would interest me as well.

virt-sparsify changing the apparent-size of files
Hello,
I am curious why when using virt-sparsify the apparent-size of the file
gets reduced to the actual file size? Is there a way to get the
apparent-size left as the full size?
In the man page for virt-sparsify it has a section on
"IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SPARSE OUTPUT IMAGES" and its output seems to
indicate what I would expect where "ls -lh" shows the full apparent size
