Low battery unexpected shutdown
Hi, recently I observed that during a power outage, my NUT setup doesn't shutdown properly. Indeed it never reaches the LowBattery state to notify and initiate shutdown on clients. Reviewing my setup and logs I think I'm facing multiple problems and I'm unable to point to real root cause. First, let me focus on my scenario and current setup: In normal status (ONLINE, fully charged)

MGE Pulsar Ellipse 800 offearly or box shutdown late
I'm struggling to configuring nut for MGE Pulsar Ellipse 800 (at least Ellipse 800) for two boxes - home firewall and file server. I'm using Debian 4.0 Etch, every one of them. I'm built (after some dangerouse experiments) a testing configuration, where boxes are plugged to line, server playing as a master, firewall as a slave, and UPS connected to an electric heater about 300 Wats (no

Low battery unexpected shutdown
Hello. Battery, battery, battery. I am only thinking at worn batteries. I recently had the same symptoms with an hp/eaton g3 1500va. One of the 3 batteries was reading a healthy 12.8v, but when put under load it would quickly drain. I would measure each battery and test them under load, like with a car headlight bulb switched on both fillaments. On Thu, 23 Apr 2020, 16:54 Marc Franquesa,

Small question on the snmp-ups module
Hi, Our research group is planning to buy an MGE Pulsar Evolution 3000 to protect our operational computers against power failures with an SNMP network management card. We would like to connect the UPS only through its network card (and not via USB or serial cable to another computer) and install the NUT software (client+server) on each machine to catch the shutdown SNMP signal from the UPS

elsist UPS
Hi, I'm new of this list. I installed nut with apt on my ubuntu64, my ups is an elsist and with it I found the Driver's CDROM only for windows. It's branded Fenton but on it there is also printed Safenet. I had no particular problems installing nut with safenet driver. But when I'm trying to connect it with the command: upsc elsist@localhost i get this output driver.name: safenet

MGE Ellipse 800 shutdown problems - using upsmon NOTIFYCMD
upsmon.conf using NOTIFCMD and NOTIFYFLG is working well, it is calling my script "notify" on requested events (ONBATTERY,LOWBATTERY and ONLINE). Command #upsmon -c fsd -u monmaster myups at localhost gracefully shutdown my box and after several seconds switch off the ups's load. Two problems: - notify script is called and executed as user "nut" (as it used to be

newmge-shut warning (was: MGE Ellipse 800 shutdown problems)
I'm now doubting if I've made this statement or not, so here it is: newmge-shut is *not* ready for production usage! I've lately found some bugs during the MGE PSP 3.0.4/3.0.5/3.0.6 updates. So for the moment, prefer to keep using mge-shut. 2007/10/25, R?zsa G?bor <mailer.tovis at freemail.hu>: > newmge-shut ??? > Shutdown, switch of ups does not work. Using command >

MGE Pulsar Ellipse 800 off early or box shutdown late

For now I think that my box does not recognize signal about low battery - I'm only started to read SHUT

Setting MGE powershare attributes
Hi! We have two MGE Evolution 1100 here, and I want to make use of the powershare outlets to force a particular boot sequence on the machines powered by them. However I'm not sure how to set those variables upon NUT starting, without having to change the init scripts to call "upsrw". Is there some place where I can set them, where they can be read automatically on startup? One of

Tripp Lite SMART1000RM2U
Hi, I recently purchased a Tripp Lite SMART1000RM2U UPS (http://www.tripplite.com/en/products/model.cfm?txtSeriesID=744&txtModelID=2657) and tried to configure the NUT with tripplite_usb driver and encounter the following problems: 1. battery.charge doesn't report correct charge level when the UPS is On Batter. It just reports 0. Even though it will report 100 when on line power. 2. I

A proper way to modify battery.charge.low persistently
Dear fellow NUT-UPS users, I'm writing this message mostly "for the record" - for others who will follow in my footsteps. Apparently, I'm not the only one, trying to find a way to "make my UPS to initiate the graceful shutdown process earlier". The topic is kind of documented in various different places, and there are a number of howto's and forum posts in the
