I think my problem that this UPS allow me shutdown as quickly as possible, no wait for "LOW BATTERY" situation, what is set by manufacturer. Is it possible to catch not only ONLINE, ONBATTERY and LOWBATTERY but when battery at spcified charge (ndependently what is set in UPS)? It seem to be much better then using some kind of timers (using upssched.conf seem to be quite messy). Hi, Our research group is planning to buy an MGE Pulsar Evolution 3000 to protect our operational computers against power failures with an SNMP network management card. We would like to connect the UPS only through its network card (and not via USB or serial cable to another computer) and install the NUT software (client+server) on each machine to catch the shutdown SNMP signal from the UPS

upsmon.conf using NOTIFCMD and NOTIFYFLG is working well, it is calling my script "notify" on requested events (ONBATTERY,LOWBATTERY and ONLINE). Command #upsmon -c fsd -u monmaster myups at localhost gracefully shutdown my box and after several seconds switch off the ups's load. Two problems: - notify script is called and executed as user "nut" (as it used to be defined in nut package for Debian 4.0 Etch)....

...Batter. It just reports 0. Even though it will report 100 when on line power. 2. I tried a shutdown test, but the NUT daemon failed to issue the shutdown command. About 30 min after I switched off the line power, the UPS started the long beep, which indicated low battery, and I did receive the LOWBATTERY notification from the NUT daemon. But the computer didn't shutdown, until another 25 min later, when the battery was depleted. 3. Another thing I suppose it's a problem of the UPS itself, is that it will go into ONBATTERY status for a few seconds, even though the line power is never lost....
