Active Directory Migration Tools - breaks samba 2.x.x?
Hi,
We are migrating from an NT domain to a 2003 AD and using the migration
tools to nicely move the users across. However, we have just realized
that a user created manually can see a samba 2.0.6 server no worries,
but a user that has been migrated using the Migration Tools gets an
access denied.
Anybody come across this one before? It's probably some bodj work
around from

Melbourne Asterisk Users meet next Thursday
...bout that too.
Anyone with an interest is welcome; from Asterisk Gods to newbies who
have recently downloaded it, from people administering several hundred
seats to people playing with it at home and annoying their families.
When: Next Thursday evening, the 17th, at 7pm.
Where: Niagara Hotel, 383 Lonsdale Street (between Queen and
Elizabeth) in the city.
The Niagara's a relaxed, comfortable place. I'm going to try and get
us a table, and put an old analogue phone on it, so you'll know how to
find us.
Any questions, you can reach me on 0415 276 127, or email asterisk@jurgen.ca.
Hope to...

Second Copy 2000 problem
Hi All,
I have upgraded a customer from windows 2000 to samba 3.0.4 on fedora
core 2. Second copy refuses to work. The log files seem to
indicate that it's trying to access the sharename minus one character.
Second Copy tech support are idiots, of course....
Basically we have a share called data. When trying to access the
share from second copy the log says can't see service

Asterisk Evening in Melbourne (again!) next Thursday
...also consumed.
Anyone with an interest is welcome; from Asterisk Gods to newbies who have
recently downloaded it, from people administering several hundred seats to
people playing with it at home and annoying their families.
When: Next Thursday evening, the 16th, at 7pm.
Where: Niagara Hotel, 383 Lonsdale Street (between Queen and Elizabeth) in
the city.
The Niagara's a relaxed, comfortable place, people seemed to like it last
time. Also, like last time, I'll get an old phone and put it on the table,
so those of us who haven't met will be able to recognise each other.
Any questions, y...

A probably silly thought but...
Not a silly thought.
I've instead of spending x hunderd thousand on brandname ibm servers and
sans, how you could create a RAID array of PCs running IDE hard drives.
If a PC dies just plug in some more and rebuild. If you want to add
more space just add more PCs. :) that would be cool.
Obviously you wouldn't use it still for critical data like databases
etc, but our user

Which IP phone to use in Australia
Hi, all
I am in Australia and I have to setup Asterisk in few offices. There will be IP phones in each office and I must be able to call between offices.
I need actual handsets. I need "standard" handsets to be used by people. Those must support features like CID, call forward, etc. --- your normal office feature set.
Also I need some sort of more complex handset to be used by

Winbind & ssh
Hi All,
I've got winbind happening and can telnet into the box using my NT
account (have manually made home directory) and it works a treat.
When I try to ssh in I get access denied.
As you can see from the log winbind is granting access but it seems that
sshd is blocking access before winbind can get to it? That's a guess of
course.
Any ideas?

Using FME modCost with multiple independent variables
I am attempting to calibrate a forest growth model using FME. I have
several spatially separate plots with time series growth data for
each(eg, height, basal area, etc.). Thus 2 independent variables: time
and plot.
Is there a way that I can calculate a model cost that takes into account
these different plots? I notice in the documentation for the modCost
function that there is a note
