(Probably wouldn't be hard to nick the deb sources from the upcoming Ubuntu 16.04 and re-compile them on 14.04 too.) ...and change logs seem to indicate this feature has been around since at least 2017, so should not cause compatibility issues with the other users. No problems, I just tried it out, and already, things are a _lot_ more sane.
