sysvol / netlogon / logoinscript
Dear all,
I have build a Domain with to samba4 DC's. Everything works fine DNS Replication, User Replication, etc.
Now I started to create a Logonscript. I doesn't reach to get the Logonscript automatcally loaded. The client doesn't load the DDP, doesn't load the GPO and doesn't load the logonscript individually in the user-setup by Remote Server Tools.
When I start \\DC1\netlogon\user.bat manually, everything works fine.

netlogon, logonscript halts on error
...have a "root preexec" perlfile that uses a database with info about
the shares, to creates a username.bat file, which mounts all the drives,
that users is alowed to write or read.
My problem is that the winlogon script does not excecute properbly on a
domain logon.
This is a typical logonscript:
NET USE * /DELETE /YES
NET USE H: \\SERVER\username /YES
NET USE Q: \\SERVER\a_share /YES
NET USE J: \\SERVER\another /YES
The bat-file excecutes all lines if I call it directly on
//SERVER/netlogon/username.bat. It DOES throw a error sometimes, either
because no drives are mounted, or because...

...nd a way to deploy software (for example
updates of E-Mail Client, Windows Patches) to my Clients.
I was playing around with AutoIt and some "switch-user-tools" for
windows, which really works but also is kind of complicated and time
consuming.
In my environment, every user got his own Logonscript on the Linuxserver
where I place the call for an installation (for ex Thunderbird update).
If the installation on the client succeeded, I need a feedback signal
from the user (e-mail, phone call...) that the script ran properly and I
can remove the call in this script.
I could also use one Logo...

Samba logoff script
Hello
Is it possible to create a samba logoff script. I currently use netlogon for
a logonscript. I also want a logoff scipt to allow me to back certain files
up once a user logs off.
Is this possible? If so how?

AD 4.0.21 -> 4.2.x
This worked prior to the upgrade.

They are DCs.

In the scriptPath attribute; which is what we have used for years.

good with postfix/dovecot. I found out that in AD users can only have

While I'm trying to do that now, I'm not a scripting guru, and it's not
progressing very quickly. Therefore: anyone has...

simple question concerning update 2.2.8 to 3
Hi,
we run a RH 9 Server with samba 2.2.8 as a PDC. Win 2K/XP Clients can
log in without a problem, logonscripts work fine.
Now I'd like to update to Fedoroa Core 1 with Samba 3.0.0.
I have read the update chapter of the "The Official Samba-3 HOWTO", but
have the simple questions:
will the new samba server work "out of the box" with the "old"
configuration, so I can add...

I don't have 4.2 in production at work. But I tried in my test

I can't see a problem here.

logon script to start a website
Hello,
Is there a way in logonscript.bat to start a website with some address.
@start "my current default browser" "http://google.com"
?
How would a script line for that look? Does anybody have one done
already and if so could you sent it to me?
Thank you,

how a domain user can become a local administrator ?
Hi list,
I'm using Samba wit a LDAP server. Everything works fine, but I'd like
to know how I can declare a user or a group user as an administrator of
the workstation he/she is logged in.
I tried to modify the guid and the SambaSID in the ldap server, but it
doesn't work. Is there another solution than to declare locally on the
workstation that such group must be of the local

Upgraded SAMBA4 DC's, now no logon scripts
Logon scripts assigned to a user do not execute when the user logs on;
it did before the upgrade.
I can run the script from the command line and it completes OK [like
\\{DOMAIN}\netlogon\logon.bat]. I can also browse to the [netlogon]
share without issue.
Upgrade was from a late 4.0.x to 4.1.x to current 4.2.x. User's can
logon without other issues [apparently].

Deny login for a specific user in a specific machine in a samba domain
Well, samba 3 can't act as AD DC, so I guess the only way I can achieve
this remotely is setting this in registry using a login script. How can I
set this in registry? There Isn't something that automates the creation of
scripts that change policies by registry?
