ApplicationProperties
Hi There,
I was wondering what the appropriate way to use the
applicationproperties.rb model was.
I was hoping to query it to find out which users are developers for my
app and then grant special permissions to them ...
I tried creating something like this:
class ApplicationProperties < ActiveRecord::Base
def facebook_session
@facebook_session ||=

Cisco 7940/7960 XML application hint
I don't know if this is already common knowledge, and it's not specificly
for Asterisk, but if you are using Cisco phones and want to roll XML
applications, make sure you have "Connection: close" in your HTTP header.
Without it screen loads are very sluggish. In PHP, do:
header("Connection: close");
I whipped up quick-and-dirty PHP/MySQL/Cisco XML directory and

Does anyone know why putting an outbound proxy in the SIP<mac>.cnf file
causes the phone to not pull it's logo from logo_url?

Cisco 7940: showing FWD in display.

display - the current DND or forwarding state.
What I've tried so far:
- dialplan app SendText() only works on a connected channel, AFAIK, and
I'm not sure if the 7940 with SIP firmware honours it at all.
- Deliver the logo_url with a "Refresh:" http header, so the logo gets
reloaded every minute or so (and the server would deliver a different
logo depending on the state): no success. The phone doesn't seem to
honour the Refresh (as opposed, AFAIK, to the idle screen when running a
sccp firmware)

Anyone can share their config file for Cisco phone please?
I have an *ipphone 7965G* which has to be connected to Asterisk. It has been
flashed with SIP firmware but the config file doesn't seem to work maybe I
am missing something in it.
I appreciate it if you can share your working sample config file with me.
Thanks

Caller ID info ZAP --> SIP??
Hi everyone,
I've been toying with * for quite some time now. I've got two Cisco
7940's with the SIP firmware playing nice with *. I can also make
outbound calls via IAXTel (toll-free calls only) and all other calls I
have routed out my X100P-clone adapter.
Here's my question... Is there a way to capture the inbound callerid from
my phone line (coming in on the X100P) and have

Howto Setup TFTP server on Linux for Cisco 7 960

But how about the config files (SIP...) that needs to be inside the tftp
server, where can I get a sample of that?
That's where the images for the firmwares of the ip phones come from, on

On your tftp server (that the Cisco phones boot from), you should have a file
called SIPDefault.cnf that inclues entries like:

and a file like SIP<MyPhonesMAC>.cnf with an entry like:

The directory_url must point to a valid web page containing xml statements

Cisco 7960
Anyone know if it is possible to load your own XML scripts on to the
phone, bypassing the Cisco CallManager? I am still waiting for my
phone to arrive, but I have been playing with Cisco's phone services
emulator, and that doesn't seem to like anything I pass to it.
If it is possible, anyone want to share any sample scripts they have.
