MikTeX will be assumed in R 2.2.0 in Windows
I've just committed some changes to allow R to be built and to use
MikTeX without needing the Rd.sty files to be installed to localtexmf.
Unfortunately, the changes are not compatible with other TeX packages,
so if you're not using MikTeX you'll need to edit a couple of the config
files (or set an environment variable).
I'd appreciate hearing of any problems during the alpha or beta test period.

Problem with
...e is a slight simplification. It consists of updating the
MiKTeX file database using initexmf instead of the GUI so you
don't have to move back and forth during the instructions.
The discussion there might correct or improve this further.
Regards.

1. Create a new tex subfolder of your \localtexmf folder:
md \localtexmf\tex
2. Copy your R .sty and .fd files into it, update the
MiKTeX texmf file name database and check that Rd.sty
is found in the correct place, viz. \localtexmf\tex:
cd \Program Files\R\rw2001\share\texmf
copy *.* \localtexmf\tex

miktex 2.6 and R
...ls/mikitex.html provides a
series of workarounds. My preference is #4, which appears to be the most
straightforward. However, version 2.4 is no longer available from
www.miktex.org <http://www.miktex.org/> . Moreover, the file structure
changed significantly in version 2.5. For instance, the /localtexmf
directory does not exist after installation of miktex 2.6. I tried adding
"c:/Program Files/R/R-2.5.0/share/texmf to miktex 2.6's root path, but it
returns an error that the path is "not a TDS-compliant root directory". I am
not sure how to fix this problem. Any thoughts?

finding yap.exe with Sweave
Dear all:
Just to make sure I am on the same page as everyone else.
I just got a new computer and had to reinstall MikTex and of course R and Tinn-R. In order to be able to generate PDF's with Sweave I had to install notepad++ to tell Sweave where Latex.exe and yap.exe where located under MikTex path. So,I have two questions:
1- Do I need to have a Miktex editor in order to use Sweave? I am

A minor question: Is there someway to prevent read.bib from ignoring

A suggestion: it would be nice if bibtex provided some extractor
functions for bibentry fields.

Latex can not find Rd.sty
Hi,
Lately my Latex engine used for checking packages stop working, and I can
not figure out how to fix it.
When creating my package (caMassClass) I get the

message. I look in caMassClass-manual.log file and find
