routing strategies for 2 adsl setup
hi all, i have been able to find only a trickle of information concerning possible strategies for a 2 adsl setup using two different isp''s. has anyone had experience in the usa or elsewhere working with their providers to carry bgp tables, or would you recommend/implement a round-robin arrangement? how ? :-) yours sincerely christopher cuse, rhce/ccna ccuse@tiscali.fr redhat 8.0

Load Balance Outbound AND Inbound Internet Traffic to one location over multiple links
I''ve read through the nano documentation, and it says that it wont handle scenarios where the main traffic is input. Also, I''ve read through the linuxvirtualserver documentation, and i dont think that applies to me either, as that set up intercepts traffic and manipulates the final destination IP and port for the traffic. What I would like to do is 1) from the ISP standpoint, deliver traffic for a given public IP network to a client over multiple (load bal...

Load balance (two links in one server): why is this not working?
Hello, I am trying to make a load balance at my box using two conections. I have compile my kernel with this patch routes-2.6.13-12.diff (tha I get from this website: http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/~julian/#routes). The problem is that when I try to balance using weight sintaxe (i will put the script bellow) some conectios just drop. So I can enter some pages but other I could not... What can I do? I am using this script (and reading this howto, again, to see if I missed somet...

Hidden networking device configuration
I am trying to configure load balancing for a couple of CentOS4 servers. In order to make it work, I need to add a hidden networking device on each server with the virtual IP. I found the following instructions on linuxvirtualserver.org for doing this, but they don't work. echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward ifconfig dummy0 0.0.0.0 up echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/all/hidden echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/conf/dummy0/hidden ifconfig dummy0:0 172.26.20.110 up When I try to write to /proc/...

ipmode compile error
imq and htb are used to control traffic. When I create a bridge with the bridge-utils, I get a new device : br0. I can shape traffic on this device, but I can not use iptables to mark packets. I used ipmode http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/~julian/#bridging my kernel is 2.4.19 when i compile kernel I get the following error: br_forward.o error 1 first_rule error 2 if I used ipmode, then I can set imq as this: /usr/local/sbin/iptables -t mangle -A PREROUTING -i br0 -j IMQ --todev 0 is this right ? ___________________________...

RE: CBQ and load balancing -> solved
...uld use it. Julian Anastasov and some people from the LVS mailing list helped me with it. --- Subject: Re: LVS and CBQ Date: Tue, 10 Oct 2000 22:53:01 +0000 (GMT) From: Julian Anastasov <ja@ssi.bg> To: joern maier <joern.maier@informatik.uni-ulm.de> CC: "lvs-users@LinuxVirtualServer.org" <lvs-users@LinuxVirtualServer.org> LVS currently uses fwmark only to lookup the virtual service. If you mark packets they don''t hit non-fwmark virtual services. This problem is known from long time. May be now it is time the packets with fwmark!=0 to be checked for non-f...

Multiple Internet Connection, established connection dropping issues
To begin with I have not applied and am not using the patches provided by Julian Anastasov. http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/~julian/ I do not believe at the moment they apply to the problem I am having. If they are I will go through the process of applying the patch. They mostly have to due with what happens when a connection dies. At the moment both of my connections are live, and I am having other problems. I...

Load Balance RX/TX data on the same NICs.
Hello, I have a Compaq Proliant i850R, running RedHat 7.1. There are 3 NICs attached to it, 2 eepro100, and 1 ThunderLAN driver v1.14a. This box is being prepped to be a download server. GOAL: Requests are sent to each NIC via seperate IP addresses. All 3 are on the same subnet. All requests are load balanced via a DNS server. We want all requests to exit the same NIC that they entered. PROBLEM:

RES: ADVANCED ROUTING USING IPROUTE2 -> Multiple Firewalls
...ada em: quinta-feira, 13 de junho de 2002 14:43 Para: lartc@mailman.ds9a.nl Assunto: Re: [LARTC] ADVANCED ROUTING USING IPROUTE2 -> Multiple Firewalls You will need to recompile your kernel with multpath support. Also before you compile apply Julian''s patches to the kernel. http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/~julian/#routes Once that is done check out the Nano-HOWTO http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/~julian/nano.txt That should get you on your way. The linux router will also have to perform NAT, more than likely DNAT, for things to work properly. On Thu, 2002-06-13 at 07:43, Roni Reicher wrot...

RTNETLINK answers: File exists
Can someone tell me what concept I''m missing here. The setup is simple. I have two default routes after ifup operations. I use "ip route del" to remove one, but then decide to add it back. The attempt is refused. Why? # ip route ls 66.95.83.208/28 dev eth1 proto kernel scope link src 66.95.83.210 65.84.205.96/27 dev eth2 proto kernel scope link src 65.84.205.104

Re: Xen on openmosix/openssi..
...ity, which is gives you crude load balancing. More like load levelling, but good enough for me. I would prefer not to have a "hot standby" wasting CPU cycles; I would rather put both nodes to work. Of course if you really require true load balancing you can also run something like LVS (LinuxVirtualServer.org) as a front-end to your many Xen DomUs. Heartbeat+DRBD+Xen scales out VERY WELL; if you need more processing power or RAM, add another pair of Heartbeat+DRBD+Xen hosts and migrate the existing DomUs to that. Virtualization software such as Xen makes moving servers around to different hosts...

Multiple IAX2 Trunks Load balancing
Hi - I have 2 Asterisk servers connected using 05 IAX2 trunks. I want to load balance incoming calls over IAX2 trunks. If any trunk goes down the calls traffic will be shared with other available trunks. When it gets Up the script is supposed to perform as desired i.e in load balance mode. Thanks in advance. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
