Distro ready out of the box
hi all,
I''m writing not for technical problems but for a simple question.
Do You know if there is a distro which is ready for traffic shaping etc.
''out of the box''?
I mean a distro which does not require patching the kernel and/or
iptables and/or installing from source etc. and gives the user most of
the tools needed (imq, ipp2p, l7filter and so on).
many thanks

Browsing to find a hardware module that might handle real-time encoding of
video in theora format is something that I can do. Doing the port is out of
my league. Very sorry.
According to http://www.linuxdevices.com/news/NS4405077268.html
"The DSP Stamp comes preinstalled with a serial bootloader and uClinux, and a
development board is also available."
I guess even if theora was ported to the DSP Stamp, there would also be the
matter of connecting a video source to the development board to t...

...ding several videos that can be found at
www.theora.org.
Development has progressed to the point that the value of the codec can be
seen. That value could be enhanced, I believe, by implementing the codec in
silicon.
When I saw the Oct. 22, 2004 announcement of your DSP stamp at
http://www.linuxdevices.com/news/NS4405077268.html
it seemed like your module might be a candidate for embedded hardware that
could allow camcorders or webcams to encode video into theora format in
real-time. I look forward to any further information you can share about
this.

I'm working for some time with these two manufacturers to see how NUT

There was a small article on Linux Devices about Opengear devices and ?Clinux:

Small Linux Distro
Does anyone have a current, stripped linux distro which has only
asterisk and net drivers?
If so do you have it available somewhere?
I guess also, my question could be, does anyone know of a small
distro, which will run asterisk.
When I say small I mean <700Mb
Also, anyone got any sites on hand which would point to ways to make
linux start up faster?

On Topic: Cheapest Asterisk USB Key? (was: Re: Off Topic: Open Source USB Softphone)
Here's a flipside of this subject: what is the absolute cheapest Linux
device that can be connected to a PC's USB port? That has just enough
power for a minimal Asterisk server running on it. The Asterisk just
maintains a CDR database on its Flash memory, which it periodically
submits over the PC's network connection with an HTTP hit on a remote
full-service Asterisk server? No call

lenny amd64 and xen.
I''ve installed debian lenny amd64, it is frozen now.
I''ve install kernel for xen support but it doesn''t start.
It says "you need to load kernel first" but I''ve installed all the packages
concerning xen, also packages related to the kernel.
Perhaps lenny doesn''t support xen anymore?
Any solution?
