linewrap test
Hi,
Has anyone thought of making rsync object-oriented? For instance, I just
want to slightly modify a few of its algorithms for somewhat specific backup
purposes (rdiff type logic for incrementals and pooling files for many
source machines with hardlinks - similar, but not exactly the same as,
BackupPC). I'm currently using wrapper programs to keep metadata in a
BerkeleyDB database but I

Working example of ALERT_INFO with Cisco ATAs?
I am wondering if there are any tricks getting the Cisco ATAs to do
"distinctive rings" via the ALERT_INFO variable?
I have seen some contradictory information in the Wiki, and I tried the
example there. I then sniffed the connection between the server and the
ATA and didn't see the header sent like it is "supposed" to be.
If someone out there has a handle on this and

R console line-wrapping
Hi all, a quick question I couldn't find the answer to in the usual places:
Is there a way to turn off line-wrapping in the R console? Or set the
line width-before-wrapping manually? Currently it looks like the
console linewraps after about 70 characters, this occurs even if I
increase the window size.
(I want to output some simple tables to screen for students in a
computer lab course)
I am running R2.9, i.e. R.app, in Mac OS X.
Cheers!

hardlink bug in 2.6.4?
The background:
I host one of the unofficial slackware mirrors & push to a high speed (unlisted) mirror that several other unofficials use for pulls. To save time/disk/bandwidth I use a custom script to hardlink the trees prior to pushing the updates to said unlisted mirror.
The commandline (linewrap from hell, sorry):

[PATCH 2/3] V5 qemu-xen-trad: Correctly expose PCH ISA bridge for IGD passthrough
The i915 driver probes chip version through PCH ISA bridge device / vendor ID.
Previously, the PCH ISA bridge is exposed as PCI-PCI bridge in qemu-xen-trad,
which breaks the assumption of the driver. This change fixes the issue by
correctly exposing the ISA bridge to domU.

maybe this needs a separate keyword ADDAPPEND

WARN in drm_crtc.c:1992 on 3.11-rc2
Hello,
I've started seeing the following warning in 3.11-rc2. [In the
interest of full disclosure, I do have a patch applied that tries to
implement drm_planes, which I might have done completely incorrectly,
but looking around it doesn't seem related. I'm definitely not
invoking any of the planes functionality right now. See

[Bug 1116] Solaris 10: mucho remote terminal problems
...a control-C hangs the remote login session.
b) /usr/bin/vi (Sun) or vim (6.4) do not use the full window size but think the
window is 80x24. In my
case I use 80x45. Doing /usr/openwin/bin/resize gives the right window size,
but vi won't work right.
c) /usr/bin/vi with vt100 on XP does not do linewraps correctly. vim works
correctly on XP.
d) After a vi session, if you cat a file then it fills the screen until the
bottom. Then the screen does not
scroll, just all subsequent output goes to the bottom line of the screen. A
"clear" fixes this.
I opened a bug with Sun on this, thinking...

CentOS-6 - LogWatch Cyrus-IMAPD script was CentOS-6 - LogWatch
...Perl beyond the bare fact of its existence no doubt there are better
ways to get the results I obtained. But this is tested on CentOS-6
with
cyrus-imapd.2.3.16-13.el6_6,
It only handles IMAP logins so anyone using POP3 or Sieve needs to add
there own code for those. And, because this is e-mail,
linewraps/breaks in the code below may not be exactly as required and
do need to be hand checked and corrected.

1.0.0-test28 Problem with INDEX
Hi
Using this line in dovecot.conf (ignore linewrap)
default_mail_env =
mbox:%h/IMAP/:INBOX=%h/.email:INDEX=/var/cache/dovecot/%n
The INBOX indexes are being built correctly in /var/cache/dovecot, but
all other indexes for folders are still being built in the user's home
directory.
I had it working once - but it seems fragile - almost as if the config
parser is sensitive to context???

How to append custom option to Contact: header on outgoing SIP INVITE msgs?
Hi list,
My need is to append a site specific parameter to the
Contact: header on all INVITEs exiting * via a SIP trunk.
I'd like it to look something like this:
Contact: <bob:3125551212 at 10.10.10.10;SITE-ID=us.here>
where SITE-ID=us.here is set in a config file that * parses on
startup. Or in a Dial() command option? Or I don't care exactly
how. :-)
It is possible to

Can I write Nothing to a variable?
Just wondering if it's possible to have an item with no content at all.
Here's what I was hoping to do, inside a larger function that acts on
a 3-D array.
I want to enter, as one of the arguments to the main function, the index
over which I'm going to do some action. For example, if the action were
to calc a sum, I'd specify a given axis and report the sums along that
axis
