I have two computers ROLAND (RedHat 5.2 and Samba) and LINDA (Windows95). I am already able to print on the printer connacted to LINDA. Can't validate USER@DOMAIN in Runas
I have my XP-Pro machine setup as a member of an Samba-based Domain server. I usually run as "linda@<localmachine>", but wanted to try running a program using "RunAs" in the "Home", DOMAIN my machine belongs to. The runas command says: RUNAS [ [/noprofile | /profile] [/env] [/netonly] ] /user:<UserName> program with Notes: NOTE: Enter user's pass...

about pam
Hi there, In the description of command "pam", it mentions "For datasets larger than (say) 200 observations". Now my dataset is a "54732 by 5" dataframe named "test". When I try to run pam(test,4),it shows " cannot allocate vector of length 1497768547". Is it because the row too big that it can't handle? Thank you!

wbinfo -i returns the same id for all users, authentication doesn't seem to go through winbind at all
...t;no such user" and > > getent passwd TESTAD\\testuser > > returns a "2" code. > ---- On linux, to get 'domain\user' to resolve, I had to have those entries in my /etc/passwd (and /etc/group for groups). I.e. *w/o krb*, (in samba 3.x), I had entries like: linda:x:1001:201:xxx:/home/linda:/bin/bash and Domain\linda:x:1001:201:xxx:/home/linda:/bin/bash So if something ever looked up w/'Domain\linda' on my PDC, it would resolve to the same UID+GID as the entry w/o the domain (since, theoretically, on the PDC, users == 'Domain\\users')....

Multiple Regression with Correlation Matrix
Hello,   In SPSS, a multiple regression can be conducted by inputting the means, standard deviations, sample size, and correlation matrix without actually using the raw dataset. Is it possible to do the same in R?   Thanks in advance for your assistance.   Linda [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

simple migration 2.8 -> 3.02; simple test cases fail
...(below ntlmv2), I've also tried explicitly allowing various security options in my smb.conf file. Testparm says all sections 'ok', server role is "Role_domain_pdc" -- which was it's role under 2.8. I had been using domain security, so a login as user 'workstation/linda' could access anything owned by user 'linda' on the server, though I got a message from testparm telling me I should try security=user ...tried it both ways...no go. Do I need to deleted the machine lines from the old smbusers file's and "re-add" the machines to get th...

how to image.plot a XY grid file into a lat-lon map
...at lon information). I do have a grid2d file that describes the lat and lon for each (X,Y) grid, but the lat and lon are not regularly spaced, so I could not use image.plot. Does anyone know how to plot this type of gridded data so that country or state borders can be easily added? Thanks a lot! Linda [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Why isn't "<Domain>\<User>' = to <User> on PDC? Isn't it supposed to be?
...gt;' ... (which is what I thought it should be). But if I use 'ssh <Pdc>', it authenticates as user 'Domain\User' Now I hacked around this for myself, by adding an entry to the /etc/passwd that dups my PDC usr, except prefixes it with the Domain name. in /etc/passwd: linda:x:1001:201:linda at localhost:/home/me:/bin/bash Domain\linda:x:1001:201:linda at Domain:/home/me:/bin/bash --- But that just seems 'wrong'.... Shouldn't pam_winbind, in the pam stack be 'Domain' & PDC aware? Or would that just be an RFE?? How do others deal with the abo...
