forking a CRAN project
There is a CRAN package licensed just as "GPL", say, XX, I want to use in a book. But I've needed to modify the package to make it do what I need for expository purposes. The package author(s) are amenable to my modifications, but probably unlikely to incorporate them into the CRAN version any time soon. Am I allowed, under GPL, to create a new version of the package, say XX2,

FRS / FRS/GMRS 2-way radios as SIP clients
Any one know of software that allows 2-way radios as VoIP(SIP) clients, besides dingotel's usb & mic cable trick ? http://www.dingotel.com/2way/requirements2way.asp They might be ok if the SIP client was not hardcode to their own SIP proxy Has anyone tried any hacks to get the 2-way radio SIP client to regsiter to a * box. hmm chan_frsgmfrs anyone? using the usb/mic cable under linux :)

Are the Siren7 and Siren14 the G.722 HD voice codecs?
Hi Everyone, 1- Are the Siren7 and Siren14 the G.722 HD voice codecs? 2- Are these codecs only for Polycom units or are they universal across all other SIP phones that advertise the HD voice codec like Aastra? 3- What is the main difference between the two and is it advisable to run these over the INTERnet (not INTRAnet)? Help needed: strange issue with share mapping at logon
