Using wine dll in another native library
Hi All !
I have some windows-maked dll (xxx.dll for example). I want to use it
on my Linux machine in my Java application. For this purpose I wrote a
small wrapper around the xxx.dll by using winelib library and make it as
libxxx.dll.so. Now I need load this library in my jvm (by using
System.loadLibrary("xxx.dll"); ) but when I try to call any function from
it I got "segmentation fault".
I try to write simple linux standalone application which use
libxxx.dll.so but got the same troubles. C...

I'm able to compile llc output with gcc without any problem.
However, when I try to link the server with the library compiled with
LLVM I get the following error during linking:
`.gnu.linkonce.t._ZN6BitmapILj39EEoREj' referenced in section
`.data.rel.ro' of ../storage/falcon/libXXX.1.o: defined in discarded
section `.gnu.linkonce.t._ZN6BitmapILj39EEoREj' of
../storage/falcon/libXXX.1.o
I use LLVM 2.8, GCC 4.5.2, Binutils 2.21.51.20110223.
Any help on how to get around this problem is much appreciated. Thank you.

static compile of rsync
...ked at the last 6 months on the list and did
not find any reference on how to static compile of
rsync. I looked at the ./configure --help with no luck.
I'm on solaris 2.8 using gcc 4.1.1. when I run thru the
process (./configure; make; make install) and run
ldd rsync, I get a list of 10 or so libxxx.so.n. I'm
compiling rsync-3.0.0.
I need to distribute the rsync pgm to 25 hosts scattered
around the globe. do not want any dependencies.
can any one help?

[LLVMdev] Question about MachineFunction Pass
...that it is target machine dependent pass, like x86? However, after compile it, I found there wasnot command option I registered. I used regular way to do it like RegisterOpt <...> X("... ", "... "), but I cannot see the optimized option when I use opt -load ../../lib/Debug/libxxx.so --help. And from LLVM source code, I saw some passes use runOnMachineFunction(MachineFunction &MF), but there is no API like registerOpt. what does it mean? Thanks
For MachineFunction pass, the doc says it is not allowed to do any of the following:

But in directory <llvm>/lib, I see many libxxx.a.
I think they just have lots of xxx.o archive.
Why cannot these xxx.o build with -static?
Thank you.

dll.so do not use import libraries
I compiled the CVS version (2003-11-03) and all xxx.dll.so files have a
file size that is not in comparison with the native dlls. Ok that is not
the point but they are also 8 times larger that an older version where
the file names where libXxx.so.
After using an older winelib app where I replaced the original winelibs
by the new compiled version I got ld error messages like:
./xyz relocation error ./abc undefined symbol "DefMDIChildProcA". This
function is in user32.dll.so but as I could find out with "ldd abc" the

I need help from you.
hello?
I downloaded samba source 4.20.2 and built and installed it on ubuntu 22.04.4 server successfully.
I am planning to modify a few sources for use within the company, build them, and then use them. I am trying to call a function in an external library file, for example libxxx.so , from source3/smbd/server.c .
At this time, I tried modifying wscript or wscript_build and building, but it failed, so I would like to hear your advice.
thank you

Compile error in CVS, entry for a FAQ somewhere, place for test/comparison files to be uploaded?

player(s) are apparently currently the only way to examine the encoded
Ogg Theora files (MPlayer support for Ogg Theora seems to be broken by the
addition of the theora comment in theora_decode_headers). Having the .

probably be helpful as well.
Finally, now that I've got the encoder and decoder working, I wanted to grab

generate some test files from it, in hopes of documenting some of the

problem installing WINE on Mandrake v8.2 - confirm with textutils
I'm trying to install WINE on my newly installed Mandrake v8.2 system.
The error I receive is "file /usr/bin/expand from install of
wine-cvs-unstripped-061102-1 conflicts with file from package
textutils-2.0.17-7mdk"
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
