HP T1000 UPS Upadet & help with using under knoppix
...usbhid-ups driver via usb at present.
Next, would anyone be prepared to help to get NUT to work under a re-
mastered knoppix 5.3.1 CD.?
I'll list what I have achieved so far.
Install knoppix to hdd ( install script standard with knoppix)
Installed headers, libusb++-dev, libgd2-apm-dev & libupsclient1, all
OK.
Download nut-2.4.1.tar.gz, run config - make -make install
Everything works ok & can connect to T1000 !!!!!!
Repeat everything in the chroot re-master environment (removed header
etc after compiling nut), everything OK and build re-master cd.
Boot from knoppix live cd and get these...

Problems with usbhid-ups and CyberPower CP1500 on 2.6.0
...nd running the driver as
root changes the permissions for the socket in /var/run such that the rest
of nut can't talk to the driver! I can fix that by manually chmod'ing the
socket after startup, but that leaves things in a bit of a mess.
Exact versions of related packages:

Tripplite UPS
Leslie,
This message is most appropriate for the NUT user list. I kept Rik
Faith's and Nicholas Kain's copyright information because the
tripplite_usb driver borrows heavily from the tripplite (serial)
driver, but they are not responsible for the mess that I made in the
USB driver.
See below.

two MGE Ellipse 1500 ups via usb
Hi,
I've got two MGE Ellipse 1500 UPS connected via usb to an ubuntu
jaunty system with nut and libupsclient1 2.4.1-2ubuntu4.
As soon as I start the driver for the second one, they start fighting
each other and I get no data. I found an older post to this list that
said: If you want to monitor multiple UPSes through usbhid-ups, you
*must* make sure that each one can be uniquely identified through the

The long story:
Operating system is Debian Wheezy with NUT installed through aptitude. That
installs the nut meta-package which installs the nut-client, nut-server,
and the
libupsclient1 packages. Following the NUT User Guide for setting it up went
almost flawlessly:
[root at mypc:/etc/nut]# cat /etc/nut/ups.conf

driver = usbhid-ups
port = auto
desc = "APC BackUPS Pro 1300"
[root at mypc:/etc/nut]# /sbin/upsdrvctl start
