I have a really nice, old Libretto 110. Only 64Mb memory. I want to put Linux on it and have a network monitoring system and a traveling NAS. my poor little toshiba libretto (p-120) won't boot with the new 4.7 i586 kernel. i've reverted back to the previous kernel for now. anyone else using the new i586 kernel successfully on old hardware?

Any one using vnc server on centos 5.1? on 4.6 I had no issue. on 5.1 I am having times when on connetion the VNC serveris crashing and logs me out of all my open'ed items. I can relog in. But I was wondering if others are seeing this and if there is something to do about it. THanks, Jerry

a friend gave me an old apc smart-ups 1250 it has a rs232 interface but i have no pc with a rs232 port i attempted to use a rs232 to usb adapter but the ups goes nuts i connected the ups to batteries and verified it was working properly when i plug the usb cable into the pc the ups shuts down when i attempt to turn it on it beeps twice and shuts down this all occurs before i start the nut software

So right now I have installed k3b on this notebook. I am using my Storix DVD/CDRW usb drive. I can read cds with it. Cannot burn CDs. First k3b suggests slowing down (from 8x to 4x). Then use TAO. Then it gave up. So I try cdrecord directly. -checkdrive finds some interesting things. Got to close the drive manually; cdrecord says it can't. then try a cdrecord -v dev=dev/scd0 sample.iso
