RE: SPA 3000 - UK Replacement
First off I am totally annoyed and let down by PC World Business (PCWB part
of the Dixons Group). I ordered one of these babies from them over a month
ago. After constantly chasing them up they finally told me they couldn't
deliver, and have now only just returned the money they "stole" from me. I
only bought from them because they showed a 4-day availability stock level!

I see one big advantage: These are honest projects, while you are liars.

Unable to set default_url_options[:host] for Action Mailer
...velopment_url.com" }
and in config/environments/production.rb
config.action_mailer.default_url_options = { :host =>
"production_url.com" }
When I run the above code ActionMailer fails, and tells me that I never
provided it with the request host. I think ActionMailer is a dirty
liar.
Any suggestions for a fix?

Actually, people have implemented perfectly valid Vorbis encoders and
decoders before the specification was even published. I wouldn't go so far
as to call other people on this list dirty liars, but I suspect that the
spec that's published is good enough for them, and they're simply
dealing with different issues than you are, and will not run into the same
errors that you'll find in the spec.

Thanks for a cogent explanation Charles.
Sitting in your chair, the temptation to point those errors out in the
logs, potentially giving the vendor an elbow in the ribs to fix their
liars would be hard to resist. But thats just me being me. :)
Take care now.

SAMBA AD and Google Cloud Directory Sync
I've successfully setup SAMBA AD following the guide at jimshaver.net and

What about a higher level configuration language
Hi all.
I've been reading through Wi-Ki and at the extensions.conf file
description (http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+config+extensions.conf)
The author says this:
"One day, someone is going to write a proper scripting language for
Asterisk that can understand a simpler, easier (and more traditional)
scripting syntax. All it would need to do is translate the "high

Why didn't you follow the Samba wiki ?
Not saying there is anything wrong with the howto you referred to, OK,
I am a liar, there is lots wrong with it ;-)
you don't need most of the first lot of packages, they are needed if
you are going to compile Samba yourself.
The howto uses ext4, so you don't need to modify /etc/fstab.

You lied when you said my messages were getting caught in your anti-spam

beware supposed PCI 2.2 compatibility!
...nifty-looking blue "E" cards, as most here probably know, require a
PCI 2.2-compliant slot. What you may not know is that manufacturers may
LIE about that (or to give them the benefit of the doubt, they may not
know. But how is that any better? I'd just as soon buy hardware from a
liar as from an incompetent.)
This motherboard from ECS, a P6VEM3, features a SiS chipset, and its
documentation claims PCI 2.2-compliance for the 3 (count 'em, 3!)
expansion slots. So we (Mike at Digium did most of it) persisted with
the other difficulties (we discovered that a C3 CPU can't...

Please help: The process of am-utils map key lookup
Hi,
I am using am-utils(amd binary daemon) to auto mount home directories. the mounting process seems working fine but I am still not understand how the amd map key(s) lookup process works.
I've carefully read the am-utils(amd) document at http://am-utils.org/docs/am-utils/am-utils_8.html, especially the chapter "3.2 How keys are looked up" but am still not clear. For example,
