Repeatability and lme
...l for example show consistent levels of aggression and differ from others in a consistent manner. I thought that I could tackle this question using repeatability, defined as r = sa^2 / (sa^2 + s^2) where sa^2 is the among-groups variance component and s^2 is the within-group variance component (Lessells & Boag, 1987). Usually, repeatability is used together with one-way ANOVA, but I'd rather stick to lme. So for the introductionary example to lme in Pinheiro and Bates (2001) with Rails, I thought it would be appropriate to follow this procedure: > library(nlme) > fm1Rail.lme <-...

Carrying model date from one page to the next
I am working on a crude first-go-round-in-rails shopping cart and can''t figure out for the life of me the best way to do this. I have a shopping cart that has one page during the checkout that handles the address information, then the next handles the actual credit card information. How do I take the information from the address form and keep it alive long enough to put it in to

Understanding Common Views
Hi Everyone, I''m trying to formulate my thoughts on how views work in RoR and I understand the basic bits - 1. Every controller has its own view defined using rhtml files in the views/[controller_name] folder. 2. There is one "view" file (rhtml) for every in the controller and has the same name as the method. 3. For portions that are common, partials can be used - file

Date class giving me errors
Whenever I try to use the Date class or its methods I get an error of ''ArgumentError'' and ''invalid date''. Even a call to Date.today gives me the error. It works okay when I call it in irb and using the ''script/server'' script. Any ideas? -geoffrey HydroMint
