I have written an addon for mirc (chatclient for irc chat networks) to play and exchange soundfiles and I am almost done with implementing the ogg vorbis format into this application. I think this proofs that the setup of the network has nothing to do with the slow performance of my samba-server. If someone needs more information, please ask. If you need some examples, just ask. all above is done on a debian wheezy system, and the temp folders for generating pdf files are ramdisks. ...l while the total backup is a bit more than 300GB. Writing this I realise I could give each user a folder oldmail and symlink that to a read-only oldmail folder. Would this work ? Hi, I recently migrated from samba3 to samba4. On the samba3 server I had a "printer" that converted pcl6 to pdf. I tried to make a similar printer in samba4, but it's not working. Not working means the printed document is nowhere to be found. This is the section in smb.conf : [papyrusPDF] comment = Papyrus-to-PDF printer path = /var/spool/samba # guest ok = Yes

hello i have this strange problem: i've ounted up a windows share on my linux machine, and tryign to copy a file to it, which is bigger than 2gbs, and it fails with a "maximum file size exceeded" error. the linux is running ext3, and windows is ntfs, so the size limit must be somewhere in samba. i've read on http://www.mail-archive.com/samba@lists.samba.org/msg10412.html
