Echo Cancellation, TDMoE fails, X100P works
We have been pretty much able to solve our echo problems, except for
the primary mode in which we desire to operate our system.
See system diagram at bottom.
Prior to making adjustments to cancel echos (all echocancel=no):

Is there a way to get inserted into an LEC's CLI DB?
Does anyone know if there's a service out there to -- for a fee --
inject our DID into the LEC's CLI database so a called party gets our
associated name?

Yes, it's from kde.

All kde programs work in all desktop managers provided that you install the required libraries. The same is true for gnome programs.

More * weirdness
Well I am about to reserve a small padded room so I can bounce off the
walls without inflicting tooo much damage... Nothing is making sense at
this point. I tried several releases last night before settling on the
latest CVS (seemed to work the best). Asterisk was running GREAT for the
first few hours. Now since around 10AM EST SIP can't register and incoming
calls are rejected with "all

Softswitch
Pardon my ignorance, but I was hoping someone could clear up something for
me.
- For a few POTS lines, digium has a single port card for that, or a T1 card
to a channel bank.
- For 10 or more lines, digium has a T1 or E1 card for that too based on PRI
channels
- For 100's to 1000's of lines, I suspect a soft-switch is in order???
A traditional phone company will sell:

NeuStar also offers CNAM db services, but VeriSign pays you for your cnam
listings as they receive reciprocal compensation for their databases, probably
charging rbocs, clecs etc per query.. I'm not sure about NeuStar or how they
handle this, but I'm almost positive that they provide cnam updates as well...
I'd look into both to get comparitive pay-outs. One of the two may also have
limits, meaning you'll need to list 50+ or 500+ lines.. and not just...

With ktorrent? No idea. Didn't even think of checking that one out.

We are attempting to use * in a simple switching application:

The problem is that (even with no office lines active) the modems

How to get long distance carrier to provide separate billing for several companies that share a PRI to LEC?
I have a single PRI to our local telco that is shared by
multiple companies. I would like to find a way to get our
long distance carrier to provide separate billing for these
companies.
I am currently calling Authenticate() to collect an account code
which is written to the call detail record, then I estimate the
charges for each company by parsing the call detail records.
This doesn't work

Zplex-10 Dialing Issue
I'm hoping that someone else has seen this problem.
Running CVS version from 03/08/03 20:00
T100P -> Zplex-10
All internal call routing seems to work fine. Atempts to make calls on the FXO interface fail. Asterisk picks up the correct number dialed but there seems to be a problem with the Zplex transmitting that number on the POTS line. All attempts to dial out fail with the LEC giving

DID on TDM400P Question?
Does anyone know if the current TDM400 card can take DID digits from the LEC?
If so is there any reference to how to set this all up? As I get my current
service from my LEC over an IAD, so would be sweet to just have trunks, not
each channel specific to a number.
Also if the above is possible, if the line is being used for DID, then is
this only workable for inbound, or can I also seize the

Random Behavior on Trunk Lines with TDM Card
We have implemented * in one of our branch offices and recently ran up
against a very strange issue. On random occasions, when we would dial
out using our trunk lines, we would get a message stating "you do not
have to dial a 1 or 0 when calling this number" even if we didn't dial a
1 or 0 in the dial sequence at all. After much troubleshooting, we found
users with similar issues

How to construct a valid seed for l'Ecuyer's method with given .Random.seed?
Dear expeRts,
I struggle with the following problem using snow clusters for parallel computing: I would like to specify l'Ecuyer's random number generator. Base R creates a .Random.seed of length 7, the first value indicating the kind fo random number generator. I would thus like to use the components 2 to 7 as the seed for l'Ecuyer's random number generator.
By doing so, I

Any experience with lanner appliances?
Hi,
anybody has installed CentOS on an lanner appliance...?
Eg. http://www.lannerinc.com/products/all-purpose-box-computers/industrial-automation/lec-2126
I was planning to buy an hp microserver to make a "small" CentOS firewall (and more since it is overpowered), but I am wondering if I could go for a lot smaller and with no fan/noise... but at the same time a bit more expensive...

Zap Channel Oddity
Can anyone help me start to diagnose why a Sangoma A200 wouldn't dial out LD? Local calls are fine, incoming is fine, just no LD. Bell tech has been on site and plugged into lines with his test set and was able to dial LD just fine, so it's not a LEC issue.
No errors in asterisk console, using zaptel 1.4.11 and sangoma drivers 3.2.6, asterisk 1.4.18

PRI D Channel and Caller-ID issue......
I was wondering if anyone has encountered and overcome this situation:
We've got a PRI to our Asterisk system and notice that if a call comes in
from a phone on our network, both caller name and caller number are
delivered in the D Channel setup message. If a call comes to our switch
from off-network, i.e. the LEC, long distance, or a cellular provider,
only the caller number is sent in
