oplock_break and Excel data corruption with Samba 2.2.3a

Suddenly can't print: "rec_read bad magic..."
...he same problem
in 2.2.3 on February 22nd, but apparently no one replied.
Any suggestion about what I can do to fix the problem?
What would happen if I were to remove /var/cache/samba/printing.tdb ?
Should I simply grab the latest Samba and try that?

Re: samba oplocks problem
...data corruption so far since oplocks have been turned off. I've
been told whatever problem it is I'm running into has been solved in
Samba's CVS. Perhaps the next release (post 2.2.3a) will bring the
possibility of turning oplocks back on.

...this right now because it's hogging the system and
taking forever.
The smaller files seem to be okay. I tested an arbitrary file using md5sum
and the "view" of smbfs and the fielsystem are the same.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance! :)

Filesize problem with smbfs
