Leaky bucket in TC
Hi, I am trying to control bandwidths of the connections by using TC with HTB. But I want to implement Leaky Bucket on this structure so as to have a straight flow. Due to being new in this area, could anyone help me how I could do this? Does TC support leaky bucket? Best regards, Fatih Duzova

leaky bucket on bursty multicast
Hi all, I have an average 2mbit multicast stream that once in a while bursts high (up to 20mbit/s) in short periods (about 200ms). Could anyone please help me with directions using tc for configuing leaky bucket shaping to this stream? I have a 5mbit/s ceiling. My system is running gentoo linux 2.6.14, and I have compiled in all QoS modules. Thanks. Oivind

Memory problems...leaky?
...hat is R doing, that this (small) size of file takes up so much memory? The script uses three variables of this size, but I don't see why that would add up to over 1.2 gigs...Is the way that I call variables in the for-loops causing this problem, with some sort of leakiness? I had heard of leaky memory problems with version 1.5.1, but I am using 1.9.1. Alternatively, I had wondered if it was just the way memory works in R, as I had read a post earlier today that suggested that R requires 5-10 times more memory than the input to meaninfully calculate anything... Thanks...Sam bflow &...

leaky reload
If I comment out the following line in zapata.conf I would expect asterisk to "forget" the cli information for that channel when I reload: callerid="Uniden Dead" <(256) 428-6125> ... but it doesn't; I have to restart asterisk for it to take effect. The funny thing is that the reverse is *not* true - ie if I uncomment the line and "reload" then it learns

Leaky dovecot-auth ?
Hello, as mentioned before, we are migrating our mailboxes from a 0.99 cluster to a 1.0.0 one. With 0.99 dovecot-auth (with LDAP as backend) was leaking quite happily and the dovecot-auth processes frequently did hit their size limit and thus were killed and restarted. Which in 0.99 at least lead to authentication failures on a busy server, as the dovecot master process just killed off the auth

[Patch] Drop Frames in Cortado
...y late, it is rejected by the audio sink, resulting in the appearance of a total lockup. In fact, both video and audio are being decoded, but too slowly to be worth displaying. How: This patch is a slavish transcription of the "leakiness" framework from Gstreamer's Queue element. A leaky queue drops buffers if it fills up, rather than blocking entirely. By making the queue of undecoded video buffers leaky, we can ensure that audio continues to play correctly even when there is not enough CPU for video. Intriguingly, jst's TheoraDec element was already correctly wired to notic...

Ingress and polishing
Hi, We are using kernel 2.4.24, tcng version 10b. I''m trying to do some policing in the ingress queue of the internet device. Until now we had configured some filters dividing traffic into queues, and on these queues the Double Leaky bucket meter was applied. The idea is to have a minimum of bandwidth assigned per class (the cir values) and a maximum (pir values), just as with the HTB meter. (see ''code 1'' at the bottom of the mail for the configuration). However after reading in the ''Traffic Cont...

source code of tc-traffic controller
Hi, I need the source code of tc-traffic controller tool, but due to being new here, I could not find it. And also I should know whether I can implement leaky bucket with tc. I would be grateful, if anybody could help me.. Fatih Duzova

Multiple passwords with sql authentication
I'm currently working on a control panel which is using postfix, dovecot and other applications and I want to add application specific passwords to increase security. I found one solution [1], however it requires the password to be included in the query which is something I do not want to do, because the query may be written in clear-text to log-files. So I'm wondering if there is a way

Puppet considered harmful?
I am considering installing a Puppet agent on a legacy server running an old, crappy, slow, leaky, yet important Java app. Nervous about introducing anything that might (further) destabilize the app. What are people''s experiences with Puppet in terms of resource usage (CPU/ memory/network/etc)? For starters will likely run it on the standard daemon schedule. Ultimately may want to cont...

Changing UPS to a bigger APC 1500 1000WA, what driver?
I've drug it as far under the table as I can get it on a 30% heart. Yeah, I'm getting on, I'll be 85 in about 2 weeks. Heart surgury will be scheduled in the next few days to replace a worn out, leaky aortic valve. Piece if cake if my veins are big enough. So what driver do I use with a Smart-UPS_1500??? Never mind it was found and accessed by the bootup! upsc my usp reports: gene at coyote:~$ upsc myups Init SSL without certificate database <<- whats this mean? battery.charge: 88 bat...

bandwidth control on htb
..., I implemented queues on some ports with htb by filtering. and to have a constant bw, i defined rate and ceil the same. But while watching the bw''s, I ve realized they may sometimes exceed the defined value for short periods. How could I avoid this situation? I thought that implementing a leaky bucket''d be fine but i m not sure about this and how to do it on tc. I would be glad if anyone could help me. Thanks, Fatih DUZOVA

Locking Options. - ACT Database
I am trying to share an ACT 2000 database on a Samba shared network drive. Act does not currently support Samba shared networking but they do not see any reason why it should not work. Is anyone else out there using ACT in a multi-user environment over a Samba shared drive? If so what settings are you using for the "oplocks" and "level2 oplocks" for the share? Thanks, Paul.

[LLVMdev] New type of smart pointer for LLVM
...o be refactored using smart pointers. D5443 <http://reviews.llvm.org/D5443> demonstrates how the solution with a certain type of smart pointer would look like (see changes in TGParser::ParseDef(), TGParser::InstantiateMulticlassDef() and TGParser::ParseSimpleValue()). Briefly: consider a leaky example: { T* p = new T; if (condition1) { f(p); // takes ownership of p } p->SomeMethod(); if (condition2) { return nullptr; // Leak! } g(p); // don't take ownership of p return p; } The preferred solution would look like: { smart_ptr<T> p(new T...

[PATCH v4 4/6] drm/nouveau: synchronize BOs when required
...| nvbo->force_coherent) > + return; Is the is_cpu_coherent check really required? On coherent platforms the sync_for_foo should be a noop. It's the dma api's job to encapsulate this knowledge so that drivers can be blissfully ignorant. The explicit is_coherent check makes this a bit leaky. And same comment that underlying the bus-specifics dma-mapping functions are identical. -Daniel > + > + if (nv_device_is_pci(device)) { > + for (i = 0; i < ttm_dma->ttm.num_pages; i++) > + pci_dma_sync_single_for_device(device->pdev, > + ttm_dma->dma_address[i], P...

/proc/xen/xenbus supports watch?
Hi, Anybody (Christian?) could please tell me if we can get the support for registering watch with /proc/xen/xenbus? (..OK, I know that we will change it this /proc stuff to a device soon) So far we can only do read/write/rm. I really miss the xen watch feature.
