lme and lmer df's and F-statistics again
...I do).
Well, writing on my rebuttal, I find myself being unable to explain in a
few, easy to understand (and, at the same time, correct) sentences stating
that it is not a good idea to report (most likely wrong) dfs and F
statistics. Can somebody here help me out with a correct explanation for a
laymen?
Any help is dearly appreciated,
Jule

Using WinPcSign Pro with Wine
I have tried to install my WinPcSign with wine, and it appears to install smoothly except for the usb dongle key.
The program is WinPcSign Pro by Signmax
http://www.signmax.us/
The program has a usb dongle with it. The program must be installed from cd before you plug in the usb dongle. The dongle installs automatically and then its up and running.
Any help would be appreciated. I think

no problems at all).
When I try to remove them now (using writabledatabase_delete_document()
via php), it halfway freezes up the machine, and the apache httpd runs
amok spawning more and more children, until I break the php script that
is trying to remove documents from xapian.
>From my laymens point of view, it seems that the xapian delete document
function freezes up the OS on a filesystem level. Is this a correct
assessment?
Any ideas on how I can get xapian _not_ to freeze up the system like
this when deleting documents?
I'm using php 5.2.0, and xapian 0.9.9.
This is a 'ls...

Terminology and canonical statistical user literature

Good point. But I think for many of us there is more behind that.
I personally belong to an (apparently fairly large) group of
R users who may be enthusiastic, but are statistical laymen
due to a lack of formal education in the area.
The half-knowledge that I have is often sufficient to see that
many otherwise nice sources of statistical knowledge are
dangerously incomplete when it comes to explaining the
preconditions required for applying a certain technique

Zaptel.conf and multiple T1 woes
...somehow only the first T1 in the 405P
was activated.
Here is a sample of our zaptel.conf config as it was handed to me (I
inherited this Asterisk project, btw). These configs are likely a train
wreck, so if anybody could possible either generate a config that would
work, or explain a somewhat laymens terms how I can go about making a
good config, I'd appreciate it.
zaptel.conf:

script sleeps
...mailing list) Louis' scripts.
Life got simpler!!
Now, the minor problem.
Louis, you and I have discussed this issue before. Your latest script,
at about line 462, you have removed all the "sleep" that slow the script
and let my slow (no longer "hot rod") P4 catch up. In laymen's terms,
the missing sleeps allow the script to proceed which doesn't allow bind
to complete before being asked do the next "bind thing." Then, when
setting Samba Privileges, those "rights" are not granted and the
installation fails.
My experience has been that "s...

Reusing story snippets
I find myself doing this:
Scenario "logged in user visiting the home page" do
Given "A logged in user" do
a_logged_in_user
end
When "..."
Then "..."
end
The a_logged_in_user method is a helper method in helper.rb which sets
up the state so that the user can browse the website.
Later in the story of course, I can just do ''Given
