running icecast and a webserver on same port
Hi, You can if your machine is assigned two IP addresses. Then you can bind the webserver to port 80 on the first IP-adres and bind icecast to port 80 on the second IP-address. Hope this is helpful. svy / weighted regression
Dear list, I am trying to set up a propensity-weighted regression using the survey package. Most of my population is sampled with a sampling probability of one (that is, I have the full population). However, for a subset of the data I have only a 50% sample of the full population. In previous work on the data, I analyzed these data using SAS and STATA. In those packages I used a propensity weight

I'm curious about why you would want to run Icecast on port 80. Geoff Justin Bot wrote: >Care to shed some light on this? running icecast and a webserver on same port
Care to shed some light on this? I have about 10 IPs that are at my disposal and 3 I've been keeping for spares and whatnot. Though binding them is a little beyond me. You can't run both on the same port, but you can pass the stream through a a CGI script - from Icecast (running on the normal port 8000 for example) and on to listeners connecting to the

restarting streamtranscoder w/ out killing listeners
Hi folks I'm running streamtranscoder on my icecast server. Unfortunately, after 5-15 minutes of transcoding, it sometimes produces jumpy/skippy audio or drops the stream altogether. What I'd like to do is restart streamtranscoder every 5 minutes. However, when I kill streamtranscoder and bring it back, all listeners on the stream get killed. How can I prevent this? In other words,

IPFW and icmp
I'm not a master of the internet RFCs, but I do believe icmp messages have different types. Now to enable traceroute for IPFW, I might put in a rule like this: ipfw add pass icmp from any to me However, how would I make a rule to limit icmp messages to just those used by traceroute? Can the messages be distinguished as such? A dynamic rule that exists only for the duration of a traceroute

Need some help on security
Hello all. I am new to the list and relitively new to FreeBSD. I currently have a server running 4.8 as a dedicated server with cPanel added as a way to speed up the creation of sites and such on the server. I host only a couple of site because I do this in my spare time and don't know enough to be a paid participant in the hosting community. Anyway, on to the question, lastnight, the server

FreeBSD-Update + Sendmail
I have been updating my FreeBSD systems for many years by updating and building from source. For the FreeBSD 9.2 cycle, I decided to use freebsd-update for binary update instead. I use Sendmail + Cyrus-SASL and the freebsd-update process only installed a 'bare bones' binary. How do I compile just Sendmail from source so that it uses my /etc/make.conf for the smtp_auth components?

BCMXCP UPS driver 0.24 (2.6.1) Hangs
List: I have an Eaton (Powerware) Model 5115 and am using the bcmxcp_usb driver on a OpenBSD 4.9 system. The upsdrvctl start appears to work and I get a message in my daemon log stating that it successfully started. I can successfully start the upsd daemon. I get a successful start messaage from the upsmon program, but it soon complains of 'stale' data. It looks like the driver
