Opening a file in mode "r+" or "r+b"
...TRUE;
to
if(mlen >= 2 && con->mode[1] == '+') con->canwrite = TRUE;
This explained my earlier R script tests, ie that the only way to write to a
file is to truncate it ("w"/"w+" flag) or by appending to it ("a"/"ab").

Laurens

75 second (5 x 15) between login request and response
...e delay seems to be caused by a
configuration issue with the LDAP password backend, but I can't figure out
what the problem(s) is/are.
I have attached the log file of a WinXP client (named Mu) trying to connect
to the Samba server (version 3.3.4, running on Debian, called Theta) using
the user Laurens.
Any insights in what is causing this will be very much appreciated.

ssl_min_protocol = TLSv1.3 does not work
...sl-common.c` is simply missing an entry
like
{ SSL_TXT_TLSV1_3, TLS1_3_VERSION, SSL_OP_NO_SSLv3 | SSL_OP_NO_TLSv1 |
SSL_OP_NO_TLSv1_1 | SSL_OP_NO_TLSv1_2 }
Is this a bug, something intentional, or has it simply not been added yet
because nobody has been crazy enough to ask for it?
Kind regards,
Laurens

UFT8 String looks great in MySql, garbage in browser
Hi,
I have some seed data in MySql which contains non-ASCII characters (as
you''d imagine as these are worldwide placenames that I''m storing). In
MySql on the command line they look great, they''re all formatted
perfectly, including Arabic and Chinese characters and they look great.
However, when I ask my Rails model for one of these fields, and render

Fitting data and removing outliers
What I'm trying to do is create best fit line in R for a set of data points and then remove all the outliers to re-create a best fit. I can't use IQR because the outliers I have in mind are easily within the range, but way out of line for the best fit, which is ruining the fit. I'd rather throw out those points all together.
Thanks!

x axis
...e x axis to 0, 500, 100, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000. I've tried a few things you've already said to other people with problems but all I get is error.
I would really appreciate some help as I've no one else to ask (the uni I've studied my masters in does not use R).
Yours faithfully,
Lauren.
