[LLVMdev] DebugFactory
So, one feature of the late, lamented DebugInfoBuilder that I am missing quite badly, and which is not available in the current DIFactory, is the ability to specify structure offsets abstractly. The DebugFactory requires that you pass in structure offset information as ints, whereas DebugInfoBuilder had "offsetOf" and &qu...

Getting GELI Keys from Floppy
Hello, i want to encrypt my HDD's with GELI (not the root-fs, though). I want to do the encryption without password, just with a key. The key should be stored in a floppy disk, and the read should be read automatically on boot, from the floppy. There is a problem here, because GELI initializes _before_ mounting the disks from /etc/fstab (for obvious reasons, of course). So GELI is not able

DAO 3.5 and OLEAUT32.DLL troubles...
Hi, I'm a Delphi developer. Using DAO 3.5 (the engine for MS Access 97 databases) and Wine 0.9.15 or 0.9.9 I've got a trouble: when I launch a query that uses some expressions (ie: "SELECT Format(...) FROM Customers") the query fails, lamenting that the function doesn't exist... (A note that can help: Dao uses VBAR332.DLL or Expsrv.dll module to evaluate expressions) The

ttda on R 2.1.1: error
Hello, I'm trying to use the package ttda, wich is involved in text analysis, for my own data about answers in a company survey. I've installed it, as well as ispell, but when trying to use an example: > zz <- file("stupid.txt", "w") # build a data file > cat("{comment - stupid data file} \n" , file = zz) > cat("<uci=1>

Migrations don''t really support transactions
I read in various places that although migrations aren''t transactional, all you need to do is wrap you migration method in "ActiveRecord:: Base.connection.transaction do" to make the self.up or self.down transactional. In my experience (Rails + PostgreSQL), this doesn''t work very well. If my migration hits an exception, any tables that were touched remain modified.

SQL bug in acts_as_taggable
Hi, excuse me if this is off-topic and feel free to ingore it in case. I''m using acts_as_taggable (the gem version) and found what to me looks like a bug in this code from the method tags_count: sql = "SELECT #{t}.#{t_pk} AS id, #{t}.name AS name, COUNT (*) AS count FROM #{jt}, #{o}, #{t} WHERE #{jt}.#{t_fk} = #{t}.#{t_pk} AND #{jt}.#{o_fk} =

Ogg artifacts
I'm having some difficulty getting into Ogg. Being my first time encoding to Ogg, I am left doubtful of the quality in reproduction. Hopefully, it is merely something that I am doing. My original intentions were to go through my CD collection and rip everything out at 224kps VBR. I began with an album I was relatively familiar with. I used FreeRip 2.53 initially, but found that I had

Hello Ivo: One more from me and I suppose a retort by you and that's it ... no flame war please. Let's see if we can keep this discussion objective. I've had enough life experience to have seen and heard the mistakes you've made many times. Point by point: * This is a tech list that I joined a number of years ago because of a serious intent to use the Speex product in my

Stupid question about IE and WINE
Hi All, Lamentably, I now have a legitimate need to run Internet Explorer on one of my nice Linux boxes. (It has to do with web design, the fact that many people still use IE, and the need to have a site that work with many browsers and not just the ones that adhere to the official standards.) Up to this point I've managed to happily run many computers for years without ever dealing with
